Motorola 5.1 Home Theater Receiver/DVD Player

Keep the great woots coming! Nice run of woots this week.

Best froogle $149 Froogle

Here are some reviews on Amazon.com

The reviews are mixed… from 1 to 5 stars. Worth reading.

A 2 star rating was given by someone who purchased 67 of them for his “lodge”. I guess the Grand Poobah wasn’t happy with the results.

A bunch of 5 star ratings though too.

Note: This post contains pricing information for future reference because it is generally not available elsewhere once we’ve moved onto the next Woot.

Decent receiver…it works the my Motorola cable company box!

Nice unit. I bouth this here last year. Still no problems.

This looks like a nice receiver, but where are the speakers? I also am unsure about Motorola home theater stuff…I tend to like my JVC stuff. This would be nice for a basement home theater though, I guess. Maybe throw some speakers up there tomorrow night?

Also, the harmonic distortion is rather high -
Amplifier Output Details: 100 Watt – at 1 kHz – THD 0.1% – 2 channel(s) (main)
100 Watt – at 1 kHz – THD 0.9% – 5 channel(s) (surround)
Anything that measures THD @ 1 kHz is usually MUCH worse from 20-20000Hz. Especially if it’s anything more than 0.05%

Motorola?! Not the first name that jumps to mind…not a bad price though…I’ve already got one though

Neat, but not enough room for this mammouth…refurbished would be much smaller I’m sure.

Amazon has a few “BAD” reviews.
