I have this modem. Love it. Bought it two years ago for $75.00.

All the information that you provided on this modem is intended for ISP’s, NOT end users. You just blindly copied whatever was the first thing that you saw in the Arris/Motorola paperwork included with the modem, didn’t you?
Also, why only a 90 day WOOT! warranty on the modem? Arris/Motorola modems come with a ONE YEAR warranty! What gives?

Careful! Comcast (at least in Portland, OR) has End-of-Life’d this modem as of November 2015 and will not activate it on their network.

I certainly hope not. I just ordered one and I’m on Comcast in VA. Comcast’s website doesn’t list this as end of lifed: http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/device.php?devid=336

It shows as EOL here:

I’m not exactly sure what the difference is - retail vs non-retail? But they won’t activate the retail one I purchased from Amazon, which I returned.

Crap, I got this modem months ago and was just about to activate - how does Comcast get away with that?

I just hooked this modem up to Comcast in Virginia. I tried to activate it online, like the comcast/xfinity website told me to, but it had an error and told me to call them. I called tech support, explained I had bought my own modem, gave them the MAC and S/N off the bottom, and they activated it. Speed tests seem to be about the same as the one I was renting from them. It’s only been 10 minutes but it seems to be working fine so far.
