What firmware does this ship with?
[/quote]
I bought one of these last Fall and replaced the one provided by Brighthouse Networks. It works great. If your service provider supports this cable modem, they should push out firmware updates as required. I know that Brighthouse does.
Does anyone know if this can really exceed 100 MBPS download speeds?
Specs say:
Maximum Channel Rate
DOCSIS: 131.072 Mbps (4 channels) / 32.768 Mbps (single channel): @ 128 QAM at 6.4 MHz
EuroDOCSIS: 131.072 Mbps (4 channels) / 32.768 Mbps (single channel): @ 128 QAM at 6.4 MHz
So should I assume that the total download rate is 131.072 Mbps x 4 channels or >> 100 MBPS ?
My current package is just 20 MBPS so I should be fine either way, just curious what the real max is here.
What kinds of speeds are you seeing with this (if you don’t mind my asking)?
Comments on prior sale threads say this modem won’t work if you subscribe to TWC’s 300Mbps service, but according to TWC themselves, this modem supports all of their Internet plans…
Having just purchased this to replace my mom’s rented TWC cable modem, and with the nagging suspicion that she does in fact have 300Mbps service, I’d be happy to hear any comments on this topic!

Time warner is crappy when it comes to user-owned modems. They don’t want to absorb the liability of a firmware update-gone-wrong, ruining personally owned equipment. This is probably of the same stock that yours came from, since woot has had them come up so often. Do you recall which FW yorus came with out of the box?

I have Brighthouse Lightning 30 service and I get about 40 Mbit download speeds.

I did not check. I simply called Brighthouse customer support, told them I bought a new mode and would be returning theirs, and provided them the number on the modem. I was up and running in a few minutes.
Purchased this deal (through Amazon). Modem is probably in working order, but as it is refurbished, the MAC address is still associated with a disconnected account and cannot be used with my Comcast Xfinity service.
