Bought the Spot lights previously on Woot. They use 4 D batteries that last a long time. But, they are not for outdoor use unless you place them under a roof. All the ones that were exposed to rain stopped working due to water leakage. The seal is not good enough to keep water out of the unit. The water makes its way into the sensor and lights and destroys them.
The ones under my porch are still working.
I have had 2 of the spotlights outside for a couple of years and love them. I have not experienced the water problems that anddreus has posted, maybe because they are partially protected by a roof line from rain.
