Mr. Beams: Light 'Em Up

Ooo, lights. It does get dark in my place…

I bought the step light last time it was on sale here but I can NOT for the life of me get it to turn OFF. And no, I’m not waving my hands in front of the motion sensor 24 hours a day!

Sounds defective to me but you should definitely contact the manufacturer to see about getting a replacement. Preferably one that turns off.

Let us know if you have any problems with that.

One or all of your batteries are either not brand new, or your lights are in a very high traffic area. Odds are it is a battery issue and the manual does cover this.

Always use fresh batteries, a blinking or constant light is a warning for dying batteries.

do the motion sensor lights work in the dark?

Anyone have the remote lights? How are they?

My porch is pretty dim at night and I can’t see my grill. I was hoping one or 2 of these might help.

Yes, very well.

these lights are so great. and they work great in the dark. here’s my last week’s project

my only complaint was that i needed to buy C cell batteries. (i mean… seriously who uses C cells anymore?)

Confused… Are they all power failure lights? Or are they all motion sensor lights? Or are there some of each?

That’s a great question and I wonder that too. I also see a remote control on some of them. Which lights does that control? Does it turn them all on at once or just specific lights?

I bought the step lights and have them on the 20 sec timer. Works great, many people have asked where I got them since they loved the idea of being able to see in the dark

it’s in a closet, faced away from the door with the door opened a sliver of a crack so it doesn’t sense motion in the room but I can see it remain on … unless there’s some activity in the closet I’m not aware of! and the batteries are fresh, I bought them from woot at the same time as the light itself. I’ll return it I guess :frowning:

Any Readybright branded lights are remote control only, non-motion-sensor. If you wanted to conserve energy or were off the grid they could even be a primary source of light. They do not require a power outage to be functional, yet in the event of an outage all of the readybright lights in your home will activate automatically. Other Mr Beams motion sensor lights (non-readybright) will not activate unless they detect motion.

here is a short clip that explains it best:

Thanks. I thought that device in the photo was a remote control.

It’s really a flashlight that plugs into the wall that also detects the power outage and then send a signal to all the lights and turn them all on at one time.

What powers the remote?

I don’t see it in the specs and the photo doesn’t make it obvious.

An included rechargeable battery pack.

I have the 2-pack cabinet lighting and I absolutely love them. Just did some work on my kitchen and these look and work great. Use your own double sided tape though because the one provided sucks.

Hmmmm… I did not get a battery pack with my order.
