TIL they are still making games for a console discontinued in 1992.
There’s a bunch for sale on the Atari website, and also a way to play the games if you don’t have the original system.
Though what I really want is an easy legal way to play Atari Jaguar games, a surprising amount of solid games are pretty inaccessible nowadays after the system flopped.
I think this is the first time in ~35 years that I have bought a NEW Atari 2600 game. I will add it to my 19 unopened carts!
I don’t know, I don’t trust Jaguar games. Saw a streamer buy a sealed copy of a game… open it up ON stream, and the game was literally DOA. It was an unopened copy. Nothing about that system seemed to be designed well, lol.
That said, I still wanted one as a kid after playing it in a Walmart.
I hope to see a new 2600+ console on Woot! one of these days. Not ready to drop $130 for one, but I’d definitely get one on sale.
