I can’t seem to find this brand on froogle.

Are they any good? They look kind of cool. Does anybody own these?

I almost sprang for this thinking it was a BOC (box o’ crap).

Mystery brand??? For only $29??? GOTTA BE A STEAL!

I got in and picked up a set of these. Anyone know what to expect? Brand? Sound quality? I’ve got an older pair of Lansing-Altec Speakers with a sub, will these be better than what I have already?

Brand is Dell, sound quality is as good as you are going to find, for 35 dollars, if not A LOT better!

They are Dell 5650 speakers. A very nice set. I have been waiting for a long time for them to resurface on woot. I needed a new set to replace the set I lost in Hurrican Katrina last year. They used to be on here all the time, but it was next to impossible to get a set because they sold out so fast and the servers crapped out every time they appeared (that’s why they went to the “mystery brand”, to make people try to figure out what they were and not hammer the server immediately). I only got my first set because of the 2005 April Fools day joke. When you tried to click “I Want One”, it would move on you. I had to view the source code and enter the link manually to get to the order screen.

How do you guys know they’re Dell? If I would have known that, I would have bought! I tried posting a question about them while they were still available but nothing went through.

How can you be sure they are Dells? It does make sense that they don’t (or aren’t allowed to) use the Dell name, however. Either way, should be a nice surprise.

I bought a set of these speakers on impulse because everyone on past forums were so amped on woot’s “mystery speakers”, but according to the ebay link above, they’re available for $39.99 on ebay. Is the $10 savings what everyone is so excited about? Am I missing something?
