Mystery MSI Gaming PCs

Tempting…what’s return policy on mystery buys like this? Is it frowned upon heavily to return of unhappy?

Just a word for anyone who might be considering buying one of these: The cheapest option is significantly more powerful than the two above it. The 3070ti is a better graphics card than the 4060 or 4060ti.

That’s true if you’re focused on graphic potential, but the CPU is guaranteed 12700 which is the worst CPU of the options to balance it out a bit

In for a Mortimer. Maybe I shouldn’t have, but I’ve been waiting for this deal to come around again for a while after my computer has started to show its age, and hey May’s a 3 paycheck month. Let’s hope I get lucky with the specs.

dang, was about to go for a joy one and it sold out the moment i added it to my cart. that was probably the best overall deal.

I bought the mystery laptop. It’s a good laptop, but I could have bought the higher model cheaper on Amazon.

I wish they told us what we could get as potential upgrades. Safer just to build my own exactly how I want it and not gamble on saving a few bucks.

So, what would the upgrade be to the Monte? Ryzen ‘9 series’ is already the ‘top’ CPU from them. I guess they could have more storage than 1TB, more RAM than 32GB, and say it’s upgraded?

Mostly likely this one:
Aegis R 13NUF-440US

Specs match up. Waste of money if this is the one. The only upgrade is a 2tb SSD instead of 1tb.

Don’t buy any of these, the only one that was worth it was “mortimer” which is sold out. The others are horrible terrible deals. You absolutely DONT want a 3070, not enough VRAM, can’t play any games, so don’t buy the cheap crap one. The other 2 are worthless because you’re paying hundreds more dollars just for extra storage or RAM which only costs $100 max and takes 5 minutes to install.

What was the price of the Mortimer

most if not all of these cards have fairly low vram. even for the top of the line choice here, the 4070 ti, it’s a 12gb vram card. at least having 8gb vram minimum across the board means they should all be serviceable for gaming.

Is there actually chance to get better than that or what bc they don’t really specify the max possibility from what I see

Received my Mortimer today, it is the Aegis Z2 A7NUE-821US which is currently on sale on Woot for $1180. So I wasted $20 basically by getting the “mystery”. What a sham.

I was actually wrong, the one I received is currently $1150 on Woot so I paid $50 extra. Fun!

$50 mystery upcharge

Mine will not post and is stuck in reboot loop. According to specs it’s probably priced about the same as what was sold outside of the mystery deal. I got the mystery of monte too.
