NavTour 3.5 inch Touchscreen GPS with Media Player

Good review site. I considered it then…meh.

Seems weird that it has a media player function. I mean, do you really want to listen to this thing’s built in speaker vs. your car stereo? Does it have a line out? I can’t seem to figure that out yet.

Looks like the closest place in price is Evertek, for $132 (refurb).

yes, i know.
wondering why this question is brought up every single time when gps is for sale. i think its equivalent, will it work with MAC?
no, really, will it?

anywho i think they sold 10 so far cause i bought 2.

Here’s another poor college student… just letting you know I feel your pain…

Screw it ! I just bought 1. For 129.99, its worth a try

I hear this is a good deal, but many people seem to have problems with keeping a signal

so you have this exact one? care to give a review?

I got lost today because I took a right insted of a left. Promised myself Id buy one.

i was just wondering… 12-channel GPS receiver… is that bottom of the barrel?

edit a pic.

i dont really like those screen shots, doesnt seem to give approximate time to target, and current speed or heading.

NOTICE TO DRIVERS IN CALIFORNIA AND MINNESOTA

State law prohibits drivers in California and Minnesota from using suction mounts on their windshields while operating motor vehicles. Other state or local laws may also prohibit drivers from using suction cups on their windshields. Other dashboard or friction mounting options should be used.

I was checking out some Garmins for double the price at Staples and they werent keeping a signal in the store.

How often are the maps updated and how can I update to the latest version?
New roads are being built daily. This information is collected and processed by the map data provider regularly. New releases of the map will be updated annually and be made available to you. Registered users will be the first to be notified of new maps. This will apply to our G2 and G4 models. GPS model NT-147 will NOT receive any map updates.

I think that people ask if they need to pay for a subscription because I think verizon charges for gps on the cell phones?

$10/month gets not only GPS but ability to look up numbers and not pay for 411 calls. This made it better than free for me in an average month.

Updated constantly, beats any device hands-down if you ask me.

Only drawback for the tinfoil-hat crew is it lets verixon know where you are…

NavTour’s website was last updated in May 2007. The website is full of mis-spellings and the thing that concerns me most is how vague all the descriptions are. What maps? How many POI (just says “millons”), spoken streets?, none of these questions are answered on any website I can find and there are no reviews out there (including Amazon).

Now, that being said:
It’s pretty and I’m a cheapskate.
In for one!

Can I use this in Europe? I will be traveling there soon, and would love to be able to have a GPS while there.

I looked all over their site to see if they were available outside of the US, and there wasn’t any mention.

Please help.

EDIT: Nevermind, read that it only has US and Canada maps loaded.

That sucks for me.

Didn’t know Staples offered drive-through service. Sweet!

No maps for europe – you’re SOL.
