This is a brilliant little vacuum cleaner!

It gets my floors cleaner than using the upright vacuum. (Probably because the robot is more patient and moves slower than I do). The batteries last long enough to do about 700 square feet on one charge.

The first one I received from Woot was defective but happily Neato exchanged it right away for a working one. Woot offered a partial refund for the inconvenience.

Is it strong enough for said cat or dog to ride on?

Is it just me or are these now approaching a level of cheapness that makes you wonder why?

That said, I love my roomba, and if this little guy is anywhere near as long lasting, I recommend them enormously.

4.3 Stars over at Best Buy

Neato now has a newer and improved model. The “Botvac” version which retails for $300+ So they’re clearing these older ones out. (My guess at least).

If you’ve got a few minutes to kill, this is one of the funniest product reviews I’ve ever seen. It’s worthy of an Uncle George Takei Facebook post LOL

I bought one of these from groupon & had nothing but trouble with it! I had to get 2 replacements because the first 2 wouldn’t turn on, strait out of the box. Replacing them took way too much trouble, but they did eventually replace them. The 3rd one worked fine for a year & then just quit. Save your $$

I bought one of these the last time they were on here. While it worked, it was great, but 92 days from the date I ordered it, it quit.

I worked with customer service briefly on it and need to follow back up with them. Admittedly I have failed on that point, so I can’t say anything about their service. Just disappointed that it failed.

Buyer Beware!!! Neato has the worst customer service. My XV-21 lasted 35 days before it died. After numerous emails and $40 to ship the defective unit back (yes, I had to pay to ship it back)I received a replacement. It took about 3 weeks to receive the replacement. Now the best part, the replacement they sent me was a lesser model. They sent a XV-12 vs. and XV-21. Save your money and frustration and pass this deal!!! The company is a freaking JOKE!

Don’t do it! I had a new Neato vacuum that failed in less than a year and was replaced under warranty. It took four replacements to get one that worked and that one failed in less than a year as well. The repair would have cost over $100. This product is nothing but a headache.

For what it’s worth, I’ve had mine for over a year now (bought from Woot, scratch and dent) and it’s still running strong. Same battery, even.

I guess YMMV.

Sad but True. After reading hundreds …if not thousands… of reviews before making our purchase, we went with the Roomba.

The Neato is a fantastic concept, with the organized patterns and such, but mechanically… Well you can see for yourself in the reviews - nothing but probs.

I liked Neato design the most, but the Roomba won out …despite its chaotic vacuuming pattern…, and has been amazing from Day ONE - not a single hitch. It’s cliff sensing has saved it many a time from tumbling down the stairs, too.

I’m optimistic that the newer Neato model is reliable, but they have a long way to go before digging themselves out of the ‘unreliable reputation’ hole they dug IMHO.

Cheers

I’ve posted this before, so sorry for the repeat, but i really do love my little neato (we named her Rosie). I’ve had it for about a month now and i agree, it gets more dust/dirt/grit up than my old dyson, but again probably because it goes slower than i do, too! i set the schedule to clean every weekday while i’m at work and i come home to nice, freshly-swept lines on the carpet. It sounds ridiculous(and lazy!), but not having to sweep so much has been so nice… one less thing on the to-do list. I only run the dyson on the weekend now and i don’t get much out of it when i do, thanks to Rosie. =) There’s a $30 rebate still available if you grabbed one of these, if you’re interested. There’s also a $10 rebate for accessories (filters, batteries)
