Is really the best. Actually has a plot and conflicted characters. How the Japanese realized they had not protected their own soldiers adequately and sacrificed them in wasted effort. That is a key statement and tells you this is good drama intended for adults; not pulpy stuff. Was told it resonated with Japanese who survived WW2 as there are clear metaphors for futility of that war. Yet it appealed to putting self aside for the common good to survive.
Well worth your time to watch as a drama even if you think rubber costume Godzillas look goofy. 7.7 out of 10.0 on IMDB tells you it was a very good film. Not simply a great Godzilla movie
