This is a great price for a pretty much fully featured Nest Thermostat. These are great for multizone (multi room) systems. I have 3 zones in my house and use a full featured Nest for my main living area and then two Nest E’s for my other two zones. They work with each other and really help with your overall heating/cooling costs.
Add an Alexa or Google Home and just speak to change your temps.
My local Wal-Mart had a new Nest E for half price after Christmas last year, so I bought it in impulse, but didn’t get around to installing it until around March.
I love it.
I have basic central A.C. and had heat. There’s no C wire. The next still works like a champ.
My favorite feature is switching to “away” node when I leave the house and back when I return. On hot days I tend to switch it back to “home” mode manually before I get home so it starts cooling.
The automatic scheduling is nice, but I don’t leave and return at the same time every day, so the geofencing has a much bigger impact on it running when I’m not here.
It looks nice and subtle, and it works.
I can set the temperature with Alexa or the app. I can just turn on the fan for a while with an IFTTT recipe. I can get what temperature it reads with Alexa.
I don’t know if I’d have bought one for over $160, but for under $100 I’m very happy I did. I’d hate to give it up.
