All replies should be to the nested quote that has been started.
This topic is an experiment to see the limits (if any) of the new forum’s nested quotes. This is an extension of a post from the Temporary Green Grotto in order to remove it from that post and have a more “scientific” approach to this. Please follow the rules listed.
The next post will be the start of the experiment.
Replies should consist of only the number of post count in text form:
- Good: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
- Bad: one, two, three, four, five
If adding to the count, please reply to the newest post, then select the “Quote Whole Post” button in the reply box, then type the next number.
Again, your reply should only be the text digit that is next in the numerical sequence.
NOTE: For the first 9 digits, please use a leading zero. This will allow us to know when the first limit is reached and the quotes are required to be a single character per line. Way past the first 9 digits now.
UPDATE 1:
Threshold 1 has been reached! After 24 nested quotes, the first post is reduced to 1 character per line! Each reply after causes the next oldest nested quote to be reduced to 1 character per line! (Confirmed for Desktop View Only - For Now)
Next Threshold: How many nested quotes can be in a single reply at one time before clipping (if any)?
UPDATE 2:
Threshold 2 has been reached! After 40 nested quotes, the first post reaches the edge of the reading pane.
(Look at my tiny avatar hanging off the edge…)
After 41 nested quotes, the first post officially is cut off from the reading pane.
(OH NO HE FELL OFF THE EDGE AND IS HANGING BY A SINGLE HAND)
