Top of the line router from 2015 – was originally a $400 router.
It is now discontinued, but I don’t know if it is worth $169 these days as that is the price of a ASUS RT AC87U… but it is the best price I’ve seen on it.
originally, this router caught flack for advertising 4x4 MU-MIMO, but not actually implementing it in firmware until many months later… so if you do buy it, make sure you update it to the latest firmware.
Never been a big Netgear fan for routers (I have their NAS box which is pretty solid). I’m on my 2nd ASUS. Got the RT66R when it first came out and just upgraded to the ROG RT-5300. What a monster. As we move forward, I’m finding the interfaces are not for those who have no idea about radio communications or networking. They are getting pretty configurable and one wrong click can cause issues LOL.
