Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 Router

Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 Router

noticing this listing, if it’s from the same batch as my late-Sept purchase, then it’s a good one. I particularly love that I can ignore all the stuff suggesting I download an app, and just configure via http on 192.168.x.x. I had to figure out some non-default settings to improve Wi-Fi calling performance at my home, but once I did, I’ve found that this router absolutely rips at this price point.

How long is it supposed to be reported by manufacturer to receive periodic updates? Simply asking as my current router was recently said to no longer receive updates which I felt was strange right after that very same router was previously sold on woot at a dramatic price cut for the new variant and had hundreds to thousands sold during its listing.

Ping @ThunderThighs @TheJarOKnowledge @kevinahalleck anybody know? Simply asking as soon as the stealth jet was on sale here new recently within a week I received an email stating mine that I had for quite some time was no longer supported by Netgear. Just looking for something to replace my current apparently now outdated router which is no longer going to be supported as manufactures want to lean consumers off those completely crash less secure networks to gain more revenue.

This may help:

I only see the RAX35 within provided link. Doesn’t tell me if in 4-6 months the RAX36 will be on that list. When was this model released as its guaranteed for a little while not to be added to that list depending on manufacturers dob.

It also said 3y minimum I believe… in the paragraph. I don’t have any other info. You’d probably have to reach out to Netgear directly.

Found the user manual stating Feb. 2023 so less than 6 months yet further than 90 days from today…Yeah that’s too risky of a gamble which after my latest run in with Netgear I don’t have high expectations about this! The bird is the word usually when a deal site significantly drops a particular product far lower than a door buster sale there is a reason behind such significant drop. Such as manufacture legal troubles, black listed developer, feedback extorsion, company business card scheming, manufacture discontinuing no warranty coverage, no longer periodical updates, etc. That all said I’m sure this product will work great at first, it’s just very questionable about the length of time of which will pass before the manufacture in their words forced to obsolete the product.

My RAX45 still gets updates every few months.
