Hi there. First time Wooter. I ordered this item last Friday morning. It was supposed to be sent by UPS. It’s clearly lost in the UPS system. It hasn’t had a scan in since it’s original scan last week. I called them several times. They aren’t helpful. I first contacted Woot about this on Tuesday when it was obvious there was a problem. I asked them to send a replacement since I will be out of the country starting next week (and need the device for travel and won’t be able to sign for it if it comes late). Woot hasn’t been responsive at all.
This is not a good experience for a first time buyer. I’m doing everything I can but Woot ignores my requests for help (and UPS is unhelpful as always). Is there a way to flag this issue for someone at Woot who can ship out a replacement overnight ASAP? I’m starting to regret ever trying Woot.
Thanks for the help.
-Longtime lurker first time buyer
Sometimes UPS packages aren’t machine scannable (for whatever reason) and don’t get scanned manually until the day they are to be delivered. Just because it hasn’t been scanned doesn’t necessarily mean it’s lost. It’s not unreasonable to wait a week or two before giving up. FWIW I ordered one of these 2 days ago and got it today. I’ve ordered hundreds of times from woot over the years and only had a few things get lost in transit. Most of the lost items were shipped with FBA, not UPS. That said, UPS does lose packages too but it’s very rare in my experience.
Hey! Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried UPS several times to see if they have any trace of the package and they don’t. I’ve opened a claim with them to see if that shakes out something; hopefully that doesn’t delay. I ordered last Friday (I’m in CA–it looks like it shipped from NJ). The problem with waiting a week or two (aside from me travelling and needing the device for travel) is that inventory is already running low. I don’t want a refund. I want the device. I was hoping Woot customer service could help but calls and emails haven’t gone anywhere at all, which is very frustrating. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. They could have sent out another device when I flagged this problem for them days ago and I could send back the duplicate if the first arrives. But like I said, I haven’t received any help from Woot. I was hoping posting something here could flag this for them.
Received mine on today and I’m definitely pleased with it. I missed out on this deal when it was offered prior, but made sure I got one this time .
Do have any sort of tracking #? Where in CA are you?
I got this too, and I’m so glad I did! I happened to start looking for an iPad a few days before this deal came up, and this one was compelling enough I just had to have it! It was completely new, and the folio is an official Apple folio and was also brand new. This was such a good deal, and I’m so glad I grabbed it. Next step is to go to Apple and get AppleCare using my student discount.
Great deal for the 2 terabyte version! Works great, legit buy.
How do you get the student discounted Applecare if you didn’t get the discount on the iPad?
Unfortunately it is impossible to add the .edu discounted AppleCare+ after the fact. 1000% the ONLY way to have it added at .edu discount is to purchase it WITH the product from the Apple .edu site. I have tried and failed several times over the year to add it afterward… Even when I purchased something from the .edu site from Apple directly. Sadly your only option is to pay full price now if you want AppleCare+.
I received my iPad Pro 3rd Gen 1TB today from Woot. It arrived sealed in (what seems like) the original Apple shrink wrap w/ pull tab. However, when I got my iPad out of the paper sleeve the screen was covered in smudges, a very clearly discernible fingerprint and the back aluminum cases had a few stuck on specks of something (food?). It seems to work okay (after I charged it, as it arrived at 2% battery) and I was able to add AppleCare+ monthly to it just fine (showing factory warranty coverage until Sep 2024). Just wondering what could’ve happened here? I mean, possible Apple sent this out in this condition to Woot? Or Woot/Amazon doing some shady stuff repacking open-box or used items as new? I purchased this thing as “NEW” accordingly to the Woot listing.
Anyone else have a similar experience with this most recent sale? I asked Woot if they would discount this seemingly-used iPad for me as they are out of stock on the 1TB models now in both colors. Just strange.
My 2TB iPad Pro came in brand new condition so maybe you just had bad luck and got a returned one. Either way it’s still a great deal because of the extra storage and twice the memory in the 1TB/2TB models. A few weeks ago I ordered an “open box” Macbook Pro from Woot, but it arrived with a bunch of little scratches on one of the edges. Other than that it works great so I decided to keep it anyway. I think sometimes the condition of the item is not 100% correct but it’s still a decent deal. If it doesn’t work out you can always send it back. I’ve never had any issue with returns, which are free.
Hi there. Make sure you reach out to Woot! Customer Service. To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).
Please allow 24-48h for them to respond.

Yeah, it is strange because it was so nicely sealed back up and “looked” correct like a new Apple Product. Couldn’t believe how dirty the actual iPad was lol… And even that it was perfectly inside the (extremely rip-able paper sleeve) like you would expect too. Anyhow, I did contact Woot support and they offered an exchange (but they only have these in 512GB now), refund (Its still a very good deal for a refurbished iPad even lol) or a partial refund to keep it. There’s some slight scuffing around the base of the camera bump, but I was able to clean the stuck on bits on the back and all the smudges just fine up front… It’s getting a dBrand skin and a screen protector on it today anyhow and I was also able to add AppleCare+ on to it just fine, so not worried about it taking a dive on me at all now. So I accepted their very gracious offer for the partial refund and will keep it. Overall very satisfied with the resolution and the deal I got on this guy! So far Ive got 150ish iTunes movies downloaded on to it and not quite even half full yet haha. Very nice iPad!!
