Wow, how does a two generations back Apple Watch show up, New at this point?
Have not recently price-shopped Apple Watch deals but $350 seems like a solid deal if you want the cellular radio version. AND this has the much tougher Stainless Steel case with also tougher crystal.
I have a Series 7 with cellular in aluminum and while I am not particularly careful, both the crystal and case have some scratches. A friend has the same series 7 in stainless and it has no scratches.
If you like the BloodOx measurement, I believe this is the last Apple Watch Series that guarantees you have it. Apple was forced to disable it on watches it sold part way through the Series 9 and later.
I am tempted by this deal. Vs the Series 7, the Series 8 adds Crash Detection (check, your iPhone might already have it), Wrist Temperature (currently primarily used for women cycle tracking) and always on Altimeter. Otherwise identical. This $350 price is only about $30 more than what I paid, also new, for my Aluminum Series 7, which as I recall had an MSRP of $529. Stainless is a huge price step (gouge?) by Apple, with an MSRP of $749. On the fence…
BTW, no need to turn on and pay the monthly cellular monthly fee (+$10 before tax, with AT&T, I heard Verizon is higher) if you don’t want to. But if you’re likely to exercise or whatever without carrying your phone, it is handy to be able to fully use your watch, including phone calls (works great) while away from and not connected to your phone.
Does this watch works? I ordered 7 & 8 series both didn’t work after full charge, never turn on and only flickering white & yellow apple sign.
Update: I returned both and end up buying from amazon new se and that works as a charm immediately.
It shows up as DOA, as a lot of us are finding out.
Mine arrived and seems to be in perfect condition - though I had to leave it on the charger for an hour before it actually booted up. It makes sense considering these sat in a warehouse for a few years. Mine has 100% battery health and everything was in perfect shape.

Lucky you
I would advise running from this item. As others have said, these watches are crap. I even took the replacement one (yes, I thought no way could two of them be bad!) they sent to the Apple Store and they tried a restore operation and it was completely dead. Also, they said the alleged Apple Warranty advertised was not valid, as the original purchase date was listed as sometime in 2022. So people, we are getting swindled and pimped and tricked by a business on this one…nothing but disappointment and a waste of time
I would not recommend purchasing new Apple Watches that are generations old. It was DEAD on arrival. Apparently the lithium batteries in these are no good because they have been sitting for so long. RMA back and still waiting on refund.
I purchased this Stainless Steel AW series 8 from woot and I was tempted by the good deal. $329. It sounded like an amazing deal. The watch had to be charged for about 2 hours before it turned on. I checked the battery health and it is at 100%. After activation and pairing, I was not able to purchase Apple care plus and serial number showed warranty expired. This got me suspicious. I contacted Apple Chat support who directed me to contact Apple support via phone. The lady asked for the serial number. She then told me this is indeed a new watch and she just needed a proof of purchase to activate the 1 year warranty. She also told me I can purchase Apple care+ for the watch within a couple of hours as soon as she updates the system. She was right. Within 30 minutes I saw the manufacturer warranty and was able to purchase Apple care+ as well.
Price reduced. I just bought for $329 couple of days back:frowning:
Smart to immediately check the official battery health. I’d do this on any Apple device that supports it (Phones, Watches, and MacBooks… oddly not iPads), whether new or used.
Yep, down to $300 from $350. Even more tempting to me - except my Series 7 45mm Cellular Aluminum still works great. But its battery health is down to 80%. Just starting to notice/“feel” it.
FYI, proper Apple Watch battery replacement by Apple appears to be $99 for all recent/current models.
At first, I was hesitant getting this after reading how it was DOA for most people here.
After reading your post and how it had been a good experience for you, I decided to take the risk and buy it because of how such a great price this is for a new Apple Watch. Glad I listened to you. Charging took an hour or so before I could start setting it up. Maximum capacity is 100%, which is great! Did exactly as you said regarding the limited warranty - as I saw it said “Coverage Expired,” went to check coverage online and it asked me to provide date of purchase. Scheduled a call with Apple Support and they were able to put in their 1-year Apple limited warranty.
I’m glad you decided to post your experience because you helped me in finally deciding to purchase this. While my Apple Watch Series 3 42mm aluminum is still working really well, I just couldn’t pass up on this deal!
Thank you again. Appreciate this forum a lot in guiding us with our purchases.
