Purchased one of these from the last sale, amazing buy!
Phone registers brand new with Google so you do get the 1-year warranty. Mine showed a date earlier than a year but after chatting with Google support they told me as long as I provide proof of purchase they will honor a year purchase date on their warranty. It came brand new sealed in-box and I have absolutely fallen in-love with the device over the 10 days I’ve had it so far.
Some apps don’t perfectly adapt to the folding display, but it’s easy to figure out and move on. For example, Snapchat works best closed, Pokémon GO scales a bit oddly when unfolded, and Pokémon TCG goes nearly fullscreen only in portrait mode when unfolded. The Whataburger app even crashes if you open or close the phone mid-use, which I found more amusing than frustrating. After a few days, you know which apps prefer which orientation, and it becomes second nature. I’d say around 75% of apps work unfolded, and about half of those take full advantage of the space. Apps like YouTube, Chrome, and Facebook look incredible and deliver the most immersive phone experience I’ve ever had.
Gaming on the device has been amazing as well. I have almost exclusively been messing with emulators so far. The extra screen space allows for on-screen controls without ruining experience. DS emulators is where is shines imo. Being able to fold the phone and have the bottom screen on the bottom and the top screen on top was one of the biggest mind blowing moments for me. Any other “DS-like” handheld on the market will run you at least what Woot is selling this phone for. Other titles like Fortnite, Asphault and a few others have all used the big screen correctly and run GREAT!
I ordered it on the 25th of August, it only shipped out on the 3rd of September and I received it the 6th. Shipping might be a bit slow but this deal on this device is definitely worth it! Feel free to ask me and questions about the device. ![]()
Fair warning. Google doesn’t consider us an authorized vendor and they won’t honor the warranty. That’s why we add the one-year vendor warranty.
Stoopid Google.
Weird, from the conversation I had with them I fully disclosed I purchased from Woot and NOT the Google Store and they reaffirmed to me I would be fine if I needed to use their warranty
Maybe they’ve changed their mind finally.
