Brand new, but only a 90 day warranty? Come on now Woot! These items are Notorious for breaking down and I doubt that will happen within 90 days.
Also the headline says 13,500 BTU, spec space says 10,300 BTU …
It also should list how many amps on 115V it needs.
These types of air conditioners are never a SMART choice unless you have no other options. Energy efficiency is their downfall.
We have two very nice dehumidifiers from Woot. I noticed that they vent out a LOT of heat. I may try to fashion a dryer type gizmo to vent the heat out a window, which may produce a similar cooling effect. Thoughts?
For two rentals now, I’ve cut a thick plank of plywood with a hole in the middle to perfectly match the fireplace opening, then vented the portable A/C hot exhaust out the chimney through the hole. I even painted the front of the board to make the plank dark and inconspicuous. With an insulative sleeve over the hose and pink high density foam glued to the back side, it isolates the hot output well.
It’s much easier than trying to install one of those mesh barriers over a casement window (all recent rentals have been 60s-era homes with crank or hinged windows).
