I thought about getting one back when these were new. And it might actually be a deal for someone at this $49.68 sale price, especially with the novelty settings and the fact it’s a complete kit under $50. Just be aware the CMOS sensor on this, as listed on page 89 of the user manual, is 20 MP, so anything larger is interpolated. Also, this isn’t the same Minolta company from decades ago. Knowing that, though, it might still be great for a cheap travel camera.

Correct. About 20 years ago, the camera division was sold off to Sony. About 10 years ago, the brand name was sold off to JMM Lee Properties, a licensing company.
(Indeed, a lot of the brands from the past are no longer the same as they were – Kodak, Polaroid, RCA, and Zenith come to mind. Just recently, Sony sold off their TV division to TCL, which followed Panasonic selling off their TV division to Skyworth.)
