NEW PRODUCTS FOR WOOT LAUNCH EVENTS

#1

Since the woot community is more technology-savvy than communities on typical deal sites, I propose a thread dedicated to NEW technology products we would like to see launched on woot.

My wish list:

Cowon iAudio X5L 20 Gig & Creative Labs Zen Sleek Photo.

There’s no way something that big will be launched one woot, because it doesn’t need any publicity.

You’ve got to get those buyers over at woot headquarters to think big! I don’t need a keyboard tray. It can’t hurt to try anything in life…hopefully woot’s buyers have the same attitude. Wouldn’t it be great to get awesome products?

Well, there has to be a really good reason for the company to sell their product on woot. A lot of it is that the company gets a lot of publicity, and all they have to do is not make as much money per item. Another is that the company probably wouldn’t manage to sell it any other way (hence a lot of obselete refurbs). I mean, I’m sure woot would love to sell those, but neither of those companies has any reason to sell their product on woot. Though, if you really wanted to send your request where it mattered, I’d recommend sending it to Cowon or Creative. That might actually get something accomplished, and might not be that bad an idea, now that I think about it…

Advice taken…I just wrote to Cowon & Creative and said I was a consumer on woot.com and would love to see their products listed for sale here. I even mentioned that according to Time.com, woot was considered one of the top 50 coolest shopping websites in 2005 and provided the link to the article. Let’s see if they can work it out! I want to see great products! Do I get credit if anything should happen? wink

I’ll give you credit for all the people that complain about the woot. And you know there’ll be plenty of those to go around.

Who could complain about a color display MP3 player? The Cowon iAudio even has a cool remote.

Price and terms, of course, I would have no control over, but some one on the woot team has to be a good haggler.

Better than a Learning Japanese video, that’s for sure…

Someone would, I guarantee it.

You might not need a keyboard tray, but apparently a lot of wooters do. It sold out (at least I think it did). Just ignore me if it didn’t, but I think it did.

PSP games and accesories would be nice

You’re right (about the first statement, I don’t know if the keyboard thing sold out either). There are a wide variety of wooters…what doesn’t work for a college student with a liquid helium cooled 8 processor gaming computer might be right for someone looking to upgrade the family Compaq.

#13

Wow, I’d like to meet the college student with the money to do that!
