The LTE is a real battery drain on this one & you can’t turn it off.

Can’t it be turned off from the mobile connections menu in settings?

My understanding from others is that’s a no.
If someone knows how to do that, please be so kind as to share that info.

I’ve had this watch for about 6 months now and the LTE is only a drain when it’s not connected to your phone. If your phone is nearby it’ll use that for communication. With normal use my watch lasts about 2 days. If I leave my phone behind and use only the watch, the LTE connection will drain the battery in about 12 hours.

I use only bluetooth to connect to my phone periodically and it drains in about 24hrs +/- depending on use.
If I charge and don’t wear it at all, maybe I can get 2 days.

Can this be used as a stand alone device with a Tello SIM card? I’m thinking about getting it for my kid…

This would use an eSIM as opposed to a physical card.

You’d probably wanna reach out to your carrier to find out if they support the watch.

My watch just arrived and I’m extremely disappointed. Issues:

  • So far it doesn’t turn on, even with charging
  • Watch band is gigantic and doesn’t fit a normal wrist
  • Watch band is configured in such a way that in order to tuck away the extra band, you have to feed it under the other side, against your wrist.

Woot, what’s your return policy?

Under Settings → Connections turn on airplane mode, exit to the timeframe, return to Settings → Connections and turn Bluetooth back on then WiFi on automatic. LTE will be inactive but you’ll have full functionality via your phone.

You can even leave WiFi off unless you need to install software updates (maddeningly slow over Bluetooth).
