What shifters work with Thrustmaster?
To use a shifter with a Thrustmaster setup, it depends on your platform. On PC, you can use almost any standalone USB shifter. However, on consoles (PlayStation, Xbox), you are generally restricted to Thrustmaster’s official shifters connected directly to the wheel base.
If you are playing on a PC, you can use any standalone USB shifter. This means you aren’t limited to the Thrustmaster ecosystem. Popular aftermarket PC options include:
Logitech Driving Force Shifter: Usually requires a third-party USB adapter (like those from Leo Bodnar or Ricmotech).
Fanatec ClubSport Shifter SQ: Can be plugged in via USB using the Fanatec ClubSport USB Adapter.
Aftermarket/Boutique Shifters: Brands like SHH (the Newt), Simagic (TB-1/DS-8X), and VNM build high-end sequential and H-pattern shifters that connect as separate USB devices.
For console users, sticking to the Thrustmaster TH8A or Thrustmaster TH8S is your most reliable and compatible choice.
