Don’t do it! I did it and the infernal light sensor broke, a super common problem with these cameras. It’s 200 MINIMUM for Nikon to service it.

I love woots deals, but highly sensitive electronics you just shouldn’t buy from a redistributor.

Buyer beware.

I agree. The more complicated the item the more you need local support, or a rock solid support system.

you mean the image sensor?

you take a risk on any product you buy, refurbs are inspected and refurbished by nikon, and I believe these would come with that seal. I have a refurbed D90 that only had 8 actuations on it when purchased, and now has over 50,000. no issues. :wink:

yes refurbs have lesser warranties, but that’s why the price is lower.

This is a great deal for a $350 camera at half price. Got very good reviews everywhere. The only concern people have is the flash mechanism, which is kind of fragile. So I’ll be careful with it.

Is this the same camera? That price is less, $499 but the offer is for less than an hour more. It is more camera than I need.
