Found a video of how it works

but will it get the hose again?

Anyone know if this can be wall-mounted?

i got me one of these a few months ago and it works beautifully… getting another 2 as gifts

Anything can be wall mounted with mighty putty.

I actually have one of these self winding hose contraptions, and while it’s a different model, the water it uses to rewind the hose is wasted on to the ground instead of coming out the business end of the hose.
I fed the drain hose (the one the water comes out of when you are rewinding the thing) into a five gallon bucket, and it nearly filled it up, winding up my 75" long hose.
Plus when I’m not auto-winding it, it still leaks water all over the place. (I will be getting a manual wind one when I get a job again.)
Now this one might not be as wasteful, but keep in mind you are going to get your feet wet standing there waiting for it to wind up your hose, plus you don’t get a bit of exercise watching it.
Perhaps if they put a solar powered motor on it instead…

How LAZY must we be to need a motor to recoil a hose?

LOL I was thinking the same thing.

So it sounds like you have to have an area to drain water off to for the reel function to work - it doesn’t just reel up without spitting water out the side somewhere. Am I mistaken?

Does anyone know what the ‘tell your friends and earn $$$’ sticker refers to on in the picture woot has posted in the ‘hose guide’ close-up?

Don’t you just say ‘hey friend, gimme money?’

similar ones that have been wooted:

I have two of the previous models and they work great. This model has the hose guide which is pretty important. I have to guide the hose by hand on the older model or it will bunch up on one side. While rewinding water will be rerouted into the pistons which turn the reel. The water is then directed through a drain hose to your grass or garden. I have fit a 150’ hose on the reel without an issue and have put the reel through its paces. It works…

Can’t seem to find the exact product on Froogle. Only one I found has the swivel (which is more expensive):

C’mon, people! Is it too hard to take 30 seconds for the old wrist-to-elbow coil?

Ummmm, 75 inches? Wow that’s quite the monster hose there buddy!

If it had the hose, maybe. If it were under $20, it would be a maybe. Got to watch the spending, so pass.

So what happens when, during rewinding, the hose gets a kink in it (they always seem to no matter how careful you are)? Would the rewinder have enough power to damage the hose?

Hmmmmm…

I bought a similar model earlier in the year. I love it. Use tent stakes to secure to the ground. The ones that come with it don’t quite do the trick.
