Color me now a weary shopper of Woot!
I have read quite a bit of information trying to find out where one might find a legend or explanation for info on items listed, e.g., “Condition”. Case in point, the Amazon Echo Show 5.
The Echo Show 5 has a “Condition” pull-down menu consisting of 6 different categories of “Reburished”. They are listed from Refurbished (1) through Refurbished (6) (see attached). There isn’t any information or legend I could find on the product page listing itself, nor is there one easily found in Support section of Woot. I have also sent 2 email/messages via the Woot site; the first on April 2nd and the last on April 5th. There has been no response. I have been a member for several years.
I did find in Support where it is suggested buyers/customers contact the manufacturer. In this instance, it is Amazon with whom Woot is a clearly defined affiliate. After finding all the trappings (jokes?), from a “pay for information” site, to various forums, I did finally call Amazon. I explained the situation, and requested a phone call as I was near tears with this today. The Customer Support at Amazon required the same info on the issue be repeated 3 times, before I was put on a short hold to allow him to research. The agent returned saying this item is being sold by the website, Woot, and they have no jurisdiction over any product they are selling as a 3rd party!!! This happened today, April 8th, at approximately 2;25 p.m., EST.
I am begging for some logical info or guidance to my problem here. My only quest is to be an informed buyer. It is this very issue which caused me to have an unsatisfactory experience at Woot on my initial, freshman, purchase. I am also hoping there is someone at Woot who can appreciate this being a very real and unnecessary barrier to buyers/ supporters of their site. Why must a customer guess the meaning of something you place as a category or descriptive? I imagine it is safe to say this is my last effort to find out something which should not require such an excruciating excise of one’s time. Frustration is not even close to what I feel right now. Perhaps this is a divine method of telling me to keep my hard earned cash.
Thanks in advance!
