These are made in Canada and they make it for major brands as well which means that they change the name before they sell the items made by these guys.

I got my first one in Oregon in the mid 90’s and had it for 10+ years. It was falling apart eventually but it withstood Eugene and Portland rain for 5 year and the Las Vegas sun for 3-4 years without a cover, just under a patio roof.

Then the right grate broke off. It took me literally over a month to find the manufacturer as information for most manufacturers weren’t available online in the early 2000’s and after I found them, it turned out that they no longer made the grill and had nothing that matched the one I had.

The new models were about 170 dollars for the one that I had and after I sent them the photo of my grill and what was broken, they offered to let me buy one if I wanted to for $45 including shipping. And I did. I had that for 6-7 years with some minor rust and gave it to my friend when I moved to Florida.

I have a gas 4 burner grill, a small round one I had picked up from here I think for 25-30 bucks but I need something bigger, so I am ordering this one right now after I finish writing this.

They may not be the most known brand but they last forever in terms of functionality and the customer service was awesome. In an age where you wait 20-30 minutes to speak to someone and when they try to sell you stuff you don’t need, these guys went out of their way to help me any way that I can and then ended up offering me a new model for almost a fourth the price of a new one, and nothing comparable sold for under $100.

Just that is good enough for me to buy again from these guys.

Edit:
Actually I did find info on it and there was one review that was similar to what I wrote above. Here is the link and the review:

"I call the company today re my BB10514A BBq as the burners are cast brass and burned out. A very nice person I spoke with their informed me the are warranted for 25 yrs however they are no longer avail, with my receipt she can issue me a partial refund on the bbq. Well I have no receipt as the BBq was a gift to me over 5 yrs ago. The company did help me out in replacing the heat indicator that was broken "For Free they are sending me one in the mail she said I’d have it in less than 3 days, so cool and I’ll do the burner fix my self… I’m an understand person and it was nice to be treated as fair as possible from them… In southern California I BBQ almost every day and love my BBQ…I’m now going to search how to stick weld cast brass and repair the burners my self. I recommend their BBB rating be given a Higher rating Thanks Jeff The Chief.

Good luck finding any grill that offers you a 25 year warranty for under $200-300 or more

I just ordered mine as well

Just a few more things. I am not a casual griller, I pretty much cook almost all my food using my grill. In Nevada I used to work long hours so I ended up grilling only about twice a week and cooking for the whole week. For the past 3-4 years, I pretty much grill at least 4-5 times a week for 7-8 months out of the year I would say and when it does get cold somehow, it may go down to twice a week but I would say I must grill at least 200 days out of the year even though I suspect it is closer to 300. And the two that I had previously worked just fine for me. The gas one I have is a Char-Broil Quantum infrared grill I had paid about 400 for when it was being sold for about 600 and even though it works great for certain things, there is nothing that tastes like charcoal grilled meat so I use the cheap ones for meat mostly. It is more important to pick good charcoal and it makes the biggest difference. You have to make sure the distribution of the charcoal is even and that combined with good quality charcoal is more important imho than the brand of the grill you are using or anything else.

The company is Canadian and it may be made in China since about everything else is made there. My last one was made in China as well but I don’t know where the first one was made. I said Canada above, I meant where the company was vs where the item was made.

Yes. You can’t find out more about our shipping here: http://www.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=5411101&pageindex=1&replycount=523

What do we know about the scratches and dents? Are there more dents than scratches?

Even washing machines/dryers are 5 bucks for shipping (haven’t seen any in a year or so).

Used to be 5 dollars for anything in a 24 hour period but now it’s 5 bucks PER order. If you order 3-4 items at once (when you check out), you get charged $5. If you order another item 2 minutes later and request it to be added to your previous order, you gotta pay another $5 for shipping because the email you receive says “they changed their shipping policies and made it faster, bla bla bla and that they can’t add it to the previous order”

It must be very convenient. I’d like to take it out to sell my BBQ.

i have two things for people to know.

  1. it’s made in China

  2. the weight is 71 lbs.

Thanks!

I just assembled this baby today. Took a little over an hour. I suggest keeping the hardware separated in little cups or plates. Once the blister pack is open, it is bound to fall apart.
I had one scratch on the front and a few pieces I had to bend in order to get it to fit. Other than that, it is a nice looking grill. I am excited to use it!

Mine had no dents. only scratches

Minimal scratches, a few minor dents. However the grill was packed with wrong parts. I modified the transmission support to make it work BUT since the whole assembly is backwards it will not work and the coal cannot be raised up off the ash pan. The charcoal pan crank is supposed to be on the right. Hole is on the left. It does not work. transmission assembly is all for the right facing assembly, not the left. I am livid.

I have the EXACT same problem, the hole for the crank that’s on the firebox front panel is on the left, and the grip, transmission shaft assembly and support is for the right.

I’m also not happy with the construction of this unit. The edges are sharp and if you’re not careful you can loose a pint of blood. A couple of parts are not measured right and when I tightened the bottom shelf the firebox back panel bowed.

I was going to call the manufacturer tomorrow. Should I call them first or email woot support?

Really sorry to hear that you’re experiencing problems with your grill.
We recommend that you contact the manufacturer first and see if they can’t assist you in resolving the issue.

If they’re unable to help, please feel free to email into Woot Member Services at support@woot.com and they’ll be glad to answer any questions or concerns you might have.

Called the manufacturer’s support # and of course the front firebox panel part is on backorder!

Frustrating because I was wanting to use this for 4th of Juluau!

On the positive side, Glen took my info and was very nice and said I wasn’t the first with this issue, so hopefully the company will realize this is a serious issue and produce the correct part and ship them out ASAP. He’s going to email/call when the part comes in.

I may just drill a hole in the right side just to finish the build and cover the extra hole with HVAC foil.

This really stinks, ROGETRAY. Woot needs to inform everyone of these problems. As with the others trying to get the correct part, it’s backordered and may take “a day, a month, we have no clue.” I wish you’d give me my money back, because I don’t know if I can fit this in the original box.

Hmmm… I don’t have the problem with the hole on the wrong side, I have the problem that the screw drive attached to the Charcoal pan crank is missing. What good is a handle without the screw drive?

Called the manufacturer and got the same response as others “item is out of stock, no ETA for replacement” They took my info and I’ll probably never see the replacement. Now I’m stuck without a functioning grill that I have 2 hours of my time tied up in assembling.

I think the manufacturer really took Woot over on this one.

Same issues. I bought this grill on Woot. The hole for the turn crank is punched on the wrong side. The internal mechanism is on the right, the listing photo shows it on the right, but the hole to pass the crank through was on the other side. Can not attach crank to raise and lower coal bed. Also missing the threaded tube that the crank goes through, so couldn’t attach it even if the hole was on the correct side. On the plus side as far as being a scratch and dent model, the issues all appear minor and cosmetic.

Update: Bad news. The manufacturer rep says this model is no longer in production, has been pulled from stores and is no longer supported by warranty. His recommendation was requesting a refund from Woot.

Thanks for that. I emailed Woot and I have the the option to return for a full refund or request a replacement grill (they still have some in stock). Considering that I was not all that impressed with the construction of the grill, I think I’ll just pack it up and send it back and either shop around or wait for a better grill off to come down the pike. Heck, I may just go with propane and propane products.

Hey everyone; sorry for the late comment. If you have trouble with the manufacturer taking care of issues, please feel free to email your situation, user ID and order number to Woot Member Services for further assistance. This definitely is a bummer, and I apologize for any disappointment. support@woot.com
