Lots of Great Reviews at BB&B

My mom and grandmother both have one and love it.

This is actually a good product for this price. I’ve owned two of these and use it almost every day. Does a great job on bacon and sausages as shown, but also small chickens and roasts do well in it. Frozen, boneless chicken breasts take about 15 - 18 min. Hamburger patties 10-12.

The one criticism I have is the quality of the materials in the dome and wire rack are “just good enough” to get you through the warranty. The standard dome will discolor and crack after about a year of daily use, and the wire rack can rust if left in water to soak. Replacing these two items is almost as much as buying a whole new device at this price.

Still, with care, this is a very useful appliance you’ll use every day and this is a good price. It retails for around $99 in stores.

A great product at this price. I don’t believe any of these come with the old white plastic dome which cracked easily. The new yellow tint dome is more durable. The ‘pro plus’ is a step up from the pro in that it adds a delayed start function: e.g. put your frozen thing in it, set cook temp, set cook time, start x hours:minutes from now, start and then go to work and come home and lunch/dinner is ready. Very handy addition. I’ve owned five of these, use it every day. Better cooking than a microwave at around double the cooking time. Doesn’t heat up your kitchen. Top-heating convection isn’t so great with baking but with parchment paper and flipping some things can be done. I haven’t used a microwave in years thanks to this baby.

What is a “Durable, shatter-resistant polycarbonate come”?

I think it has somehing to do with a Marvel superhero.

I have one of these and LOVE it! I can take frozen chicken or pork chops out of the freezer and they’re cooked in 20 minutes, easy. I’ve paid for mine just from being able to buy the cheaper, bulk meat, freezing them and cooking them that way.

The one piece of advice I’ll give you though: They include a little wire holder for the dome. This holds the dome on an angle when not in use. THROW IT AWAY!!! The new yellow/orange domes are better and do not crack as easily. But still, the reason they cracked is because that holder puts stress on the dome when it’s held at an angle like that. What I do is place a towel on the counter next to the base and place the dome on that. I use a towel to protect the counter, but also for any water that drips off the dome. And mine has lasted about two years without any problems at all!

This is a really good price, even for a refurb.

Dome.

Cooking your food in plastic is healthy? Seriously people?

Yeah! I mean, it’s not like it’s packaged and sent home in plastic. And it never stored plastic when it’s being processed. Oh, and the inside of your oven/microwave doesn’t have any type of polymers embedded in their interior coatings. And when it’s time for clean-up, there are no plastics in the dishwasher for that steam to release back onto your bake ware. Down with plastic!

Anyone ever made frozen pizza in one of these?

EDIT: What model is this, please?
thanks.

Is there a vibranium model?

Frozen pizza kinda sucks in these. the cheese burns before the crust is done. There is a pizza kit that requires you to start cooking the pizza upside down, then flip it over. I got a $20 clamshell pizza oven. That works great.

thanks

EDIT: Ok, I bought one at 11:58 PM… right under the wire, whew. First a $100 toaster the other day and now this.

Hey, Woot. I just need a good air fryer and and I’ll be set for a while.

It holds in a lot of moisture, which is really good for some foods and really bad for others. The pizza clamshell is perfect for pizza (obviously lol) because it is open and therefore the crust can get dry and crispy. Just some food for thought when choosing this or not.

I’m very ambivalent on these. For the price here tho it’s good… but no telling how long it will last. I got one new as a gift and after a couple years it wouldn’t turn on anymore. They are very efficient and great for snacks, but kind of cheaply made.
