I got caught masticating in school once. Teacher made me spit it out.
So it masticates…but does it spit or swallow?
A most excellent juicer! If you want to do greens (wheat grass, cannabis, etc) this is the only way to go. (Forget centrifugal juicers.) Carrot juice lasts longer than that made with my previous juicer - a Champion - because it crushes at lower speed which results in less oxidation. Really well built and a snap to clean.
OMG I would love one of these just so I could offer visiting relatives pre-masticated food.
Actually, come to think of it, maybe my parents could use one. They’re getting on in years…
Y’all are weird this morning.
I really can’t get over the stigma of being labelled a domestic masticator. I do not want to go down that slippery slope of perversion.
Im guessing from context that “slow speed” is supposed to be a desirable feature? Maybe for marketing reasons that aren’t actually backed by science?
This morning? Welcome to Woot first-timer…
Juicers generally want to avoid generating any heat because supposedly heat destroys nutrients. Slow speeds introduce less friction so therefore less heat in the process.
Edit: The ultimate would be cold press where the material is simply squeezed under high pressure. No spinning or grinding or churning to generate any heat. But then you start getting into juiceiophile (sp?) levels of marketing and its subsequent pricing.
And, you just explained the reason that olives are cold pressed. Proven to be higher quality, with the best flavor.
You just cannot post a product with a name like ‘masticate’ on Woot! and not expect weird. You know you guys giggled since you got this product lined up!
Surely I can’t be the only one here who hears both Troy McClure and Dr. Nick peddling the Juice Loosener right now
But is it “whisper quiet”?
Where are these mythical “hot” juicers? Try this before you spend money on a fancy cold juicer: put a room temperature orange (or whatever) in a cheap $40 juicer. Use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the juice that comes out. Notice that the juice is still room temperature (i.e., it’s no warmer than the orange that went in). Now you have an extra $170 to spend on fruit!
During hot pressing of olive oil the oil is deliberately heated very hot (usually above 100 C). It’s easy to see how that could affect the flavor. But no juicer heats juice so much.
I bought the monster machine to squeeze all th juice that I can out of it:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: no pun intended. Share the juice and make the whole family healthy and happy:yum:
