Did anyone else get the Ostrich version? I’m currently looking for a local emu farmer and a heavy-duty hammer. 5/5 stars for the teal color, though.
That’s funny, but in practical terms at 4,000W that device would melt like a plastic shopping bag, if you could even run it of off a standard American outlet.
Melt? Nonsense. That is merely the ‘Safety Release Mechanism’ working perfectly. We just had to ‘jumper’ the dryer outlet and bypass the kitchen wiring completely. The manual said ‘use on a dedicated circuit,’ and you can’t get more dedicated than bypassing the entire house panel. Just look at the ‘therapeutic glow’ coming off those connection points! (Please ignore the slight plastic aroma; it means it’s working.)
I’m getting secondhand electric shocks just by looking at that image.
Ironically I actually know how that feels because I touched an open transformer box as a child. Which, I guess, actually perfectly explains my behavior on this website…

See? You get it! Once you’ve danced with a transformer box, a little 4,000W kitchen arcing just feels like a nostalgic hug. It’s not ‘danger,’ it’s just a high-frequency trip down memory lane.
WTF YOU CAN’T JUST SAY THAT WITHOUT PROVIDING A TRIGGER WARNING FIRST
Yes, I received binoculars. Did you get yours yet? They are very compact but seem to work well.
Ditto mine were also sealed and new.
Support got back to me and issued a refund. I guess I will remove the rubber ear pieces, soak them in some alcohol, then donate them. Oh well…
I’ve been having a bit of bad Woot luck lately. I managed to snag the magnetic wire clips from one of the $1 deals, but the tracking has been showing “delayed” since the second. Keeping my fingers crossed. : )

I have the exact same thing for the same item. Maybe there was some systemic issue with those.
I don’t even remember what the last one was that got delayed and then canceled. One time I ordered a Rubik’s Cube and Woot sent me a sealed empty flat paper mailer. It even had the packing slip inside. I like to imagine Mortimer and Monte taking turns at shipping. ![]()

They were just delivered this morning. They are only 7X, but nice quality lens. The packaging (thicker box & foam) was designed to protect them through shipping. (I’ve received more fragile things from Amazon in the past that were sent in paper bags!) It comes with a protective case, neck strap, lens cover and a cleaning cloth.
But most surprising? A 48 page instructions booklet! I would never have thought to be so thorough to include this for binoculars. If I had been in charge, I would have provided the instructions on a Post-It…
- Hold binoculars up to eyes
- Look.
For $3, this is a fabulous pair of binoculars to have, or to give as a welcomed gift.

The customer service is great. They will help you out. That’s not cool.
Mine came in today!
Looks like my wire clips are out for delivery and the OMG binoculars will be here tomorrow. ![]()
I’ve already used this.
Thanks Woot!
For anyone who might get confused, you have to press the following button to both put on and take off a socket.
Still waiting on everything from this woot off.
They refunded me for the mechanics set but the rest I haven’t heard anything about besides it was on its way. Have had really bad luck with woot recently.
