3 x more sturdy?
4mm vs 2.5mm
I’m not sure that maths-out…
You read the terms & conditions in fine print too, don’t ya?
No. I focus my efforts on analyzing important stuff like cell phone stand sturdiness claims.
It’s probably cromulent. Moment of inertia is:
I = bh^3 /12
Make the sheet metal thicker (h) and it will significantly increase the resistance to bending. It’s a cube term, so going from 2.5mm to 4mm does increase the stiffness by a factor of 4.1.
Ah, cromulent. Of course…
A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man.

Apparently, it’s a Simpsons thing. Not yet a real word.
