Nice piece of equipment for the price if not for the many complaints about the HDMI failure. Can be used as a pre-amp.
This receiver packs a punch, clean sound, blows away the Yamaha, Sony & others in the same price range. If you plan to use 4K, make sure you check to use the correct HDMI port, not all support 4K, and it can be frustrating to see you’re not getting the full resolution @ 4K. A good buy for a home theatre.
Onkyo’s HDMI failures are pretty much old news and long over with. With this & any other piece of audio/video equipment, heat is not your friend. Always keep them well ventilated and you should be just fine.
Just bought the 620 a week ago, after exhaustive research, so kicking myself seeing this. Hdmi failure didn’t show up in this series so not a concern. In the same price class this has more watts per channel, sounds about the same, and has chromecast built in. It used to be that the receiver might do some video processing, but it seems to have become cheaper to use your video source or the display processor and let video just pass through the receiver. This onkyo can pass through the best signal you are likely to find, 4k UHD.
Oooooo, A/V receiver which actually has a Phono-In. Now, if only I needed an A/V receiver right now.
Good. This one for sure supports the 4 ohms and looks to be a great price across the web.
