Groupon has the same refub for $59.99 without Lynx…
$38 for full cost Lynx…
I would say a price reduction should be in order…
Just sayin…

Had Ooma for 2 years from a previous woot! offer. It was simple to set up. I got Premier service but still paid considerably less than any landline company or cable company. It worked great most of the time. I occasionally had glitches but usually after a reboot or rerouting wiring it was ok. I never had the Linx and still had mine linked to my printer/fax. Support was glitchy too as it appeared to have been outsourced to another country. My system died after 2 years. After getting no help or support from Ooma, I changed service. Ooma customer support got ugly when they found out I was changing to another service and they held my number hostage giving people the “this number has been disconnected” message for a week…not nice Ooma since I was still paying and being charged for your service. It took 3 months of battle to get them to stop taking money from my card after cancelling service. Then they had the nerve to beg me to give the box to someone else to use and they would void the start up costs. When I told them my system was not working, they told me they would send me a new box if I would give it to someone else…uh, no. When it worked, it worked great. It looked nice. I liked that it would announce over the system box messages and such. It just died and they told me too bad so sad for me. I am very happy with the other VoIP system I am using now and have not had any problems at all with it.
just to re-cap a prior post:
1)these are great
2)use a UPS backup
3)over $2K saved on just my unit alone so far
4)911 works
5)watch for a backup unit to have a ‘spare’ on hand for the inevitable day it breaks down (over 3 1/2 years without a hitch so far, but the backup is ready in a closet for mine or my parents replacement as needed)
6) you can ‘take it with you’ if you want to use your home phone number while on the road (snowbirds, extended work relocation, contract workers etc) but 911 will go to your home address if you call it!
yes… you could call me an ooma fanboy…
We took ours to Chile for four months last year. Worked great! Although the Ooma power supply is labeled for both 110v & 220v power, the 220v power in Chile was causing the Ooma to reboot so we ended up buying an inexpensive converter to go from 220v to 110v. After that, it worked flawlessly.
