Do these work with google home?

Do these work with Amazon Alexa?

Do these work with anything more than Ora’s own apps?

Do these work with… Anything?

No, for real - I can’t find anything by this name on the entire mothership! Let alone any details on Google Home, Apple Homekit, Alexa, or Zigbee/Z-Wave compatibility…

@ThunderThighs or anybody else; Care to elaborate? Details seem a bit scarce, even by Woot! standards.

My guess is no, based on the information available (or lack thereof) here and elsewhere on the interwebs.

How much load power can it handle?

ditto- how much load can it handle?

This is available on e-bay for 24.99, which they say is half price. As far as power load, common sense should tell you that. The load is whatever your 120 breaker will take. You plug your microwave and broiler oven into this plug or any plug, you are going to trip your breaker. If one plug is used for multiple lamps or lights, you should be fine. But multiple kitchen appliances coming on at the same time on this plug or any power strip or circuit in general is going to blow the circuit breaker.

Hea hea hea …You said load

What is their app called? I just tried to find it in the Apple App Store and had no luck. Is this Android only possibly?

Generally if a product does not list as compatible with Google, Amazon, Apple, etc; it isn’t.

Here’s the best Amazon compatibility list that I could find

If someone could post a good Google list that would be helpful, but I doubt the “Ora” will be listed.

Common sense would tell you to ask the question what the load is. Don’t assume that it can handle 30A.

also please note that they have invented a new OS called “Andrews”

This.

A lot of home CBs for outlets are 20 Amp, a lot (i.e. ALL) of these WiFi smart switches are rated for no more than 15 Amps or less, and off brand ones like this I wouldn’t trust with as little as 10, honestly.

This isn’t just a pass, this is a danged-hard pass - and not just because it will probably burn your house down should you use it for anything more demanding than a standard 60W lamp, but also the lack of support from any of the big players in the Smart Home arena. I have enough apps (WeMo, TP-Link’s Kasa (I love these switches, but they also need to get on the compatibility bandwagon already AND offer a dimmer version), Hue*, Wink, Alexa, and Sensi).

*Unless you really like playing with the color of your lights, skip these. Nothing can replace the proprietary hub, so there’s a connection in your router you won’t be getting back (I had to buy a switch). Also, I feel like the other features, like being able to set the schedule your scenes for dusk or dawn, are lacking (You can set it exactly at dusk or dawn, but not any increments before or after like all of the others).

thanks- passed

If it doesn’t work with Amazon Alexa I don’t want it!
