Walmart has this for $119.99 but it’s currently out of stock. Odd pricing on these in general, the gold version at Walmart is $249.99 and pink for $199.99. Hard to believe anyone would pay two times the cost just for a different color.

I agree. Overpriced. I just want to brush my teeth. IMO, toothbrush companies are going WAY too overboard with all these ridiculous connected features. I’ll take a basic Oral B for over half the price. Thank you very much!
Stretccccchhhing it just a bit to need a smartphone to brush your teeth, no?
Ask your dentist what the benefit is to your teeth health of the $350 Oral B electric toothbrush vs the $50 Oral B electric toothbrush (in a 2-pack that is regularly[edit typo] sold for $100 or less).
Seems like perhaps those $250K/year MBA Brand Managers at Proctor & Gamble have too much time on their hands. ![]()
That depends. It looks like the smartphone also shows you where to brush, which might be useful. It can also serve as a timer for you.
I have the Genius 7000, which is connected to my smartphone, but I hardly use that feature. That’s because the 7000 came with a little LCD display that sticks to your mirror and gives you a timer. However, when I travel, I don’t take that device, so using my smartphone as the timer might make some sense.
But I agree that these are overpriced. Amazon had the 7000 for $80 a few days ago and I was thinking of getting it (as mine has become temperamental), but I waited too long and it went back up to $130. ![]()
The Internet is your friend - search “how to bursh your teeth”. Or ask your dentist.
Does any smartphone not have a countdown timer? Or, if you need a timer, rather than balancing your expensive smartphone on the sink, pick up one of those cheap hour glass timers online. Less than 5 bucks per timer.
Reading is your friend. I didn’t say that it shows how to brush, I said where. For example, it might show you where you missed or when to switch brushing areas.
Yes, but the device that came with my 7000 is synced to the brush. If you pause for a bit, its timer pauses, too. Also, it’s synchronized to the brushing mode, so every 30 seconds (in the default two-minute mode) you see a segment complete on the timer (along with the brush vibration).
Even more useful, I use that timer to tell me when to switch areas in a quadrant. For example, I’ll brush the fronts for 12 seconds, the backs for 12 seconds, and the tops/bottoms for 6 seconds. Good luck using a sand timer for that.
As for balancing the smartphone on the sink, I agree. However, it appears that the 9600 comes with a smartphone holder that attaches to a mirror. Would I trust it? I don’t know – my 7000 didn’t have that, but its timer device has never fallen off of my mirror.
If you don’t see the use in the connected features, that’s fine; others (like me) may see some use in them. What nobody needs is Condescension Man swooping in here.
