Did you miss it? Here are some Crappy Tips

1. Stay Logged In - When the current item reaches 5%, log out of woot and log back in to keep your session fresh
2. Keep your cart clean - Clear out any sold out items from your cart
3. Refresh the Community Page - New items show up faster on the community page than they do on the main page. When an item is sold out, the forums are the place to be.
4. Click the image - Make sure you are clicking on the image of the crap, and not the text. This will get you directly to the Add to Cart page, and save you some more time

The secret is definitely to refresh the community page instead of the front sales page. And have your mouse placed over the top image (not the item name, as that just goes to the forum).

Got it! Right as I sat down on my couch with a bowl of pineapple chunks and opened up my laptop to refresh the main woot.com page to see the sold out backpack. (holy grammar!)

I had enough time to log out, log back in, and get to the community page to F5 until the Bag of Crap popped up.

This time I got past the checkout page only to get the message that they were all gone. But I went to my account page and the order was showing up there as if I had purchased it. The sales map for the states does not show a purchase in my state though. Guess I will just have to wait and see.

Random stuff; I’ve gotten a messenger bag, a watch, some slap bracelets, some drapes, a half dozen iPhone 2 cases, a keychain with a bug in it, and a lot of stuff I can hardly remember…

How I got my Bag of Crap:

  1. Have three tabs open. One tab on the main woot.com page, one on the community page, and one on wantone.woot.com.

  2. When the current item is at 5%, log out and log back in.

  3. Switch to the community page and keep on refreshing until the Bag of Crap item pops up. When it pops up, click on the picture, not on the item name.

  4. Once you’re on the Bag of Crap page, add the item to your cart.

  5. Switch over to the wantone.woot.com tab, refresh, and click on the ‘place your order’.

  6. Cross your fingers and hope.

You must do these steps very, very quickly.
