With 16m/s top speed and 300 meters signal range, you can fly away for 20 full seconds and lose the drone. Fun! Alternative is making circles.
300 meters is roughly 1000 feet, and with the FAA regulation being that you have to keep line of site on the drone, that’s probably about as far as you could see a drone of this size anyway. Plus, most people fly drones to get aerial video of things near them, not to fly over the horizon or anything. With the FPV option on this drone, it might also be fun to just fly through a course or something.
To get the drone, the controller and the headset for this price is not actually a bad deal. I have this setup and got some interesting video along the ocean and other places in the past.
Maybe use this drone to learn how to fly it and have it, with your control, do whatever you need it to do. OR Maybe you can send your drone out 1000 meters and have it circle and film your little intended target all with the push of a couple buttons. Have the drone use it’s brains rather than you using yours.
