Should mention that the weight of this drone requires the device to be registered with the FAA–with or without the cage.

Would you happen to have the approximate dimensions of this drone?

This is from the listing on Amazon:

Product Dimensions: 23 x 5 x 23 inches

Do I need to use my phone to control it, or will it pair to a remote at all?

“offers exceptional sensations right from take-off.”

I think I’m doing something wrong.

It’s controlled via Wifi. You need a phone or tablet, Android or Apple. I think that there is also a Windows program that you could use with a laptop instead.

We’ve added this info to the offer.

From what I understand, drone operators must register themselves with the FCC. If you’ve already done so, you’ll just need to affix your ID to this drone. A label maker works wonders for this!

I have a Parrot AR Drone (that I bought off Woot for $170 three years ago almost to the day) and it’s still super fun to fly. The auto-launch and -land features make it super easy to get started. The onboard video recording (via USB stick) is pretty cool, though the streaming video can get choppy (not great for navigating). The only thing I’ve had to replace is the battery, which I think died after being completely drained for too long (like, a Winter).

Part of the text description is wrong. This is not a pocket sized minidrone

My drone arrived yesterday, and looks like it would be a lot of fun if it had come with a battery. O_O (I’m pretty sure this was just a mistake in packing, and I’ve already contacted tech support, but it’s still a little irritating.)
