As anyone who has ever owned a Golden or a Lab will attest: all it will take is a couple of “feedings” before your pup will start chewing on the device to get to the treats!
I got this from the treasure truck. Connects to 2.4ghz networks only. Good wide angle camera. Audio is super sensitive. Lots of feedback even after playing with settings a lot. It only saves 4 hours of history if you don’t subscribe to their storage service. Doesn’t connect to other apps, no on board storage, no wired internet option. The treat ejector throws a lot of treat crumbs around. 3/5.
I had a Lab/Australian mix once. Couldn’t decide on name for a while. Ended up with “Chewie” for obvious reasons.
The product image makes it look like the person holding the phone is the dog on the phone.
I almost got this on the treasure truck last week, but decided not to after reading some of the reviews about connectivity. I think even at that (lower) price point, I’d rather just keep my regular cameras in the house to keep track of my dog and give her treats in-person.
Hey there. I work for Petcube and we are yet to come across the case of the destroyed by a dog product. Petcube Bites is made out of the brushed aluminum and can wall mounted (comes with the mounting kit)
Yup! Petcube is a small startup based out of San Francisco. This is our third camera.
It also works with Alexa by the way. You can ask Alexa to ask Petcube to treat your pet for hands-free control
Here are the connectivity requirements for Petcube Bites: iOS 8.4 and higher or Android 4.3 and higher (2.4GHz WiFi)
Thank you so much for buying Petcube Bites on Amazon Treasure Truck. A few comments from our team:
audio (a new Software update is coming in two weeks or so, it will have “push to talk” option which will improve the audio experience greatly
no onboard storage: yes, the camera streams real-time video to your smartphone. You can explore Petcube Care cloud video storage options. A standard practice with smart cams
treat crumbs: depends on treats, we recommend the crunchy one. The container is removable, can be washed by hand or placed into a dishwasher
Hope this helps,
Nothing like spending ridiculous money on a ridiculous product. Always a sucker with money burning a hole in their pocket to take it from.
Don’t hold back.
