So there’s two different models pictured, which one do you get and what’s the difference between them?

Use computer for DVD player… Automatically upconverts. Do not need.

Well, it looks good, but does anyone know if this machine will play PAL as well as NTSC?

Bought one of these at Walmart a couple of weeks back for about $57. Ended up liking it so much I went back and got a 2nd one a couple of days later. These are pretty nifty for the price. The USB port and the ability to run divx (with subtitles) is great.

Does the upconvert work through the component output or only HDMI on this player?

I know most will NOT do this, and my tv doesnt have hdmi input.

This is a decent player…but the ps3 works just as well and you can play sweet games…

I have one, it’s a great little DVD player. Lots of customizable settings regarding picture, interlacing, audio format, works AWESOME with a flash drive of DIVX movies in the front panel USB port. Good pickup if you have lots of DIVX movies that you wanna watch on a tv, or if you’re not ready for a Blu-Ray just yet.

I have this and it works great. The best part is the USB port on the front that you can plug a USB flash drive into and listen to music, look at pictures or watch any DIVX video.

Could be nice if you are too cheap to upgrade to Blue Ray.

I bought one of these brand new last year for $40 + tax from Costco. I mostly use the USB port to play AVI files off of a USB stick. I liked the player so much I bought one for my dad. Lightweight, no nonsense.
