Admin, whatās the difference between the Hue Bridge and this Hue Bridge Gen 2? Both are being sold on Woot! and thereās no changes/upgrades listed between the two products descriptions and checking the official Philips-hue.com website thereās no mention of an upgraded hub or Gen 2 hub. Is this some Woot! or Marketplace ācreative licenseā marketing or is this an undocumented upgrade that needs some āsplainingā l look forward to your reply. Thanks.

They were possibly purchased by Woot on separate purchase orders and at different costs.
@kevinahalleck , Are you a representative of Woot! or and interested party? I would really like to get an āofficialā reply from a Forum Moderator since there are ātruth-in-advertisingā requirements that must be adhered to that havenāt been enforced often enough by Woot! and their Marketplace vendors that claim any thing they feel like including with no basis in reality, honesty or truth. So, which is it, someone who should be being doing another job that proofreading marketing descriptions or a deceptive sales attempt?
I am simply another Woot customer who made the same observation. Recently, the multiple purchase orders explanation has been commonly offered by Woot staff in similar situations. (same item, different prices)
Hopefully, a Woot staffer will clarify the confusion tomorrow. They officially do not monitor the forums on the weekends as stated on the Forums homepage.

Not Woot staff here, but someone who has a lot of Hue equipment and various smart home tech 
Anything that you would be purchasing in the last several years (maybe almost eight years now), would be the Bridge v2. The first one was an awkward circular model, which I believe was EOL for support back in 2020ā¦ And even back then, it was old.
The second version has been essentially static since close to 2016 or so. It functions as a multi-use hub if you want to dig into some of the deeper smart home integrations, since the Zigbee radios inside are free for connecting anything on that protocol into a variety of smart home platforms (Apple, Google, Home Assistant). Because they havenāt changed in what feels like forever, theyāre cheap, ubiquitous, and very versatile - The only downsides that I can note are that Philips Hue is expensive for many lights (but often well worth it for simplicity and reliability), and there is a limit to how many devices can be controlled per hub, just because they havenāt upgraded the hardware and way it is utilized in a long time. Technically, there is a slightly higher āhardā limit, but I would advise sticking with fewer than 50 lights, and roughly a dozen āaccessoriesā (this can include remotes, motion sensors, switches, etc.)ā¦ Because of this, many smart homes that are larger will need two, three, or even four hubs, depending on the number of lights, or other Zigbee devices in use.
So, I hope that helps to shed some light on the situation (pun intended), and eliminate some of the concerns about what generation the hub could be. Itās a square, and itās 2025, so it is almost certainly the hub v2 or Bridge v2.

Itās probably obsolete at this point.
