PHOTOSHOP TUTORIALS

er. which one?

never mind, I’ll cover your bet.

I have a puzzle I haven’t solved. I have scanned an image from a T-shirt that I want to make into an Iron on trasfer. The problem is that the scan picked up the T shirt fabric, which will not make the new transfer look as good as it should. My question is, how can I take this image and fix it so that it is in the pre-ironed onto T-shirt state so that I can put it on the new T-shirt.

This is a semi-gag gift, for my wife, who loves this T-shirt, but its literally falling apart.
Mickey Mouse T-shirt
There are actually four of these Mickey mice on the T-shirt, and my original is rather higher resolution than the image I have linked to, but I don’t want to bother y’all with it- I just am asking for some plan for removing the fabric pattern from the transfer.

The hell if I know, but that never stoped me before!

Time for you to write a tutorial!

Thanks Fen*.
so, what did you do? because, I need to do something similar to the original, larger image, and the other 3 large versions as well. I don’t need a bounch of pictures, but some idea of the processes you went through.

Joe

ptff, it would have been better to just take out the black and then fill it in.

I “background erased” the white, then I did “one click photo fix” and then “edge preserving smooth” Mostly just auto settings and such.

*Sigh. We all know Illustrator is the best tool for this job.

After an hour or so of drawing, here is a clean copy. (I have the vector format if you want it.)

And if you get laid because of my re-drawing of your wife’s t-shirt and she gets knocked-up, you will have to name the kid (whether boy or girl) after me…

I saved a black & white copy so you could color it yourself…and provided one colored in…

Edit: Yeah, I know I am awesome… My hand hurts from drawing the border and the circles and lines…

Modest too!
PM with what I think you wanted with the phone call.

Okay, I’ll print it out for when I need it again…

Thanks KT!

Illustrator: That is a vector drawing program? So I need to convert it to vector, then fill in the separate objects with the pure colors…I can convert it with corel trace, then do the rest with Corel Draw, I guess.

PM me your email addy…I could send you the .ai file and you could try to import into corel draw…

I wish I could find my damn tablet!

I’ve never used one.

How do you do the presure sensitivity? my tablet has suposedly 215 levels of pressure sensitivity.

very nice KT! always good work… and so nice of you!

PM.

internet down all evening, intermittently. annoying as hell.

hope it stops before tomorrow.

Thank you, wizard. Have we met?

And sent…

Try opening it in different ways if it doesn’t open up straight through Corel Draw.

Not officially…

(thinks about how to say this without coming across as a 12-year-old-boy with a crush…)

You just always do solid work and help out people like Josephus who need a hand, is all.

blushes anyway.
