This seems pricey for a folding camp chair. What sets it apart from the $14.99 ones? It looks high quality in the pics but it would be nice to get more info to justify the price.
Some specs would also be nice. Weight? Size when folded? Material of seat fabric?
I bought one of these the last time and yeah, it’s worth the moola. I bought it for someone who doesn’t feel ‘safe’ in a regular folding chair, but loves this. It is heavier than a regular chair and doesn’t fold into a nice, small package.
Do you ever suffer from a cramp,
while you are out roughing it at camp?
So send Woot your money,
and buy on for your honey.
Don’t use it to hold up a lamp.
The little side table should be reversible - be able to be placed on the other side of the chair. 2 of these chairs - sitting together means that the table separates the two chairs to an unacceptable distance - if you are in a venue where you would like to converse without everyone around you hearing your conversation!
Ultimately, you get what you pay for. While I don’t personally have this one, I assume that the construction is far better than the cheap-o walmart chairs. I’ve personally never had one of those chairs last me over a year, so for
$60 if I got three years use out of it, it would be a good deal.
I would like to say that Costco has a similar style chair for approximately the same price (give or take $5), but with a lot of cushions, and the costco lifetime return-it-at-a-moments-notice policy. It is listed for $30 more online than I saw it this weekend at the physical location.
These chairs are only good for 225 pounds. If you are a bit “full figured” this Woot chair is a safer bet with the 400 pound capacity. Trust me, there is no graceful way to recover if you discover “the hard way” that the chair is not up to the task
I have this chair. Somewhat difficult to unfold and refold (very much so as compared to the usual camp chairs). Although it might hold 400 pounds (can’t personally test for that, but it is super-sturdy), it’s not very comfortable. Looking at the picture, see all that metal at the back of the arms (where arms and chair back come together)? It’s very “stabby” if your posterior fills out the chair very amply (can vouch personally for that). The metal arms become very painful at the sides of one’s thighs, especially when wearing shorts. It’s better than no chair at all for a plus-size friend, but not great.
