I got so excited for a cute little plaid chalkboard. Alas, it is plain, not plaid. More disappointing than a box of crap.
The description says “Plaid-Wood chalkboard frame” so that’s a reference to the pattern in the wood itself. Is the wood like it is in the listing’s photos?

Under the Plaid Wood Surfaces brand, the company sells a wide variety of unfinished wood blanks and shapes designed for artistic customization.
Many of the pictures in the Amazon reviews depict an unfinished wood frame. It’s perhaps an unfortunate naming decision for the company to call itself “Plaid” and to thereby name their product the Plaid Chalkboard when in fact it is not plaid, but plain.
Ironically, probably not even a typo in the listing.
This makes so much more sense! I read through the listing multiple times trying to get “plaid” to make sense and I couldn’t. Plaid being a brand that makes plain wood chalkboards was just not a solution that crossed my mind!
