PNI Steeleye Cordless Rechargeable Radar/Laser Detector

For the Canadian wooters like me, it’s illegal

i know they are illegal in Virginia… but ive been rockin one for 3 years now. Pretty much if you get caught, the cops here put them up to their radar guns which will fry it :-/ ah well…

I don’t think I can trust my money, or my driving record to a $40.00 radar/laser detector.

The battery lasts awhile but the cool thing is you can charge it while you use it!

In many states yes. + gives an officer cause to search giving up your 4th Amendment right.

Dang…got the whistler. Should I have held out?

Auto power off after 1 hour?? Oh, great! That will come in handy on your longer trips. See the flashing blue lights and glance up at your new WOOT! deal to see that it’s gone to sleep 15 min ago! That’ll piss you off…

valentine 1 is where its at.

I have one and the batteries last about 25-30 useage hours per charge. Also they are illegal in DC and Virginia. Reast of the US is legal. Just don’t try to take it into Canada or the mounties will take it away. Lost a Cobra that way.

you get what you pay for, wooters, you get what you pay for

Actually, I just did.

Honestly if there’d be even a 2nd-rate radar detector woot I would have bitten, but the dimestore specials – not so much.

Here is a performance review of 3 cordless detectors, including this one: http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=10055

Funny thing about lasers, you can’t see them until they hit something and radiate. A laser detector can’t actually detect a laser until it’s hitting you, and if it’s hitting you then the cop knows how fast you’re going. I guess it could warn you that a cop is checking, but that’s only useful if he were actually likely to laser you twice.

I use a Valentine 1 and it’s still not as accurate as i would like it to be. So i can’t even imagine how well this would perform… i have a feeling it would go crazy every time you drove past a automatic door.
