pokes stick in woot

I hope you are kidding…

And what’s wrong with Idol exactly? Hmmm? It’s perfectly good TV, when it’s not opposite LOST that is …

You probably prefer music contest shows like Rock Star INXS more, huh?

How did you do that! I never saw anyone make a smiley before.

I just edited the poking smiley. It isn’t hard, GIMP can make animated gif files.

OK, if you say so. It is really cool.

Did you ever make flip-book movies as a kid? Same thing. The original smiley is made of 8 frames. GIMP (an image-making program, kind of like Photoshop, but free) can read the file. I just added the “woot” to each of 8 frames.

That makes sense. Do you teach? (and no, I do not want to learn how to do it. I was just wondering how you did it.

No, I’m awful at any sort of public speaking. Brain turns off.

Well you are good at it here. At least what you write makes sense when I read it. Doing it is a whole other story.

Thanks. I use smoke and mirrors.

edit: The things I have been able to explain are easy to explain; they have to be simple, otherwise I wouldn’t understand how to do them myself! You really could make little animated movies yourself, too.

edit 2: Well, you have to learn how to post pictures, first. Are you going to try again? I like looking at pics. I sorta miss when kt used to post her abstract photo stuff.

I am sure what you did to that Cure picture was not simple to do. You know more than you let on to know. That is why it is interesting that you know how to explain it in a way that makes sense to someone with no background.
If I was going to learn something I would go to the free i photo class and find out how to get the pictures off the computer where they have been held hostage since I took them.

I took over 100 yesterday. A few are really good! I wish they would come out with a small digital camera with a better zoom. I really miss my 150mm zoom. The new version of my camera got a lot thiner, but the zoom is the same.

If you are talking about the clown picture, that is easy. All I did was draw hair and a nose on top of the pic, just like crayons on a photo. The stuff that the contest people do, to make a crazy picture that still looks like it came directly out of a camera, that is hard.

Sorry, but, as a guy, I am compelled to try to help: I found the following how-to on the Internet. http://www.codecomments.com/archive240-2004-8-268922.html

  1. Insert a blank CD when iPhoto is not running. If you get a dialog asking
what to do, tell the Finder to prepare it. The blank CD icon pops up on the
    desktop.

  2. Run iPhoto.

  3. Select the pictures you want to burn and drag them to the CD. Just click,
drag them out of the iPhoto window, and drop 'em on the icon of the CD.

  4. Tell the Finder to burn the CD.

edit: if you have a program called “Toast,” it seems to be able to burn CDs that are easily readable by both Macs and PCs (if you tell it to burn it that way).

Hubby swears that I can make a photo album and burn just that. In theory all I need to do is drag and drop. Somehow I even messed up that.
I figure it out by vacation. Then you’ll all be sorry. I’ll post all of it! I have been taking pictures to post all spring. I have the ice storm…it was very short, only a few hours…only have one good one from that. I have the fire island beach and light house. Yesterday I went to Rockefeller Center. Those came out good, but I know every inch of that place and never took the pictures with the camera because only tourist took pictures. Well now I’m a tourist too! Got about 10 postcard shots. City at sunset from the roof. Still mad I had to pay to get up there.

very nice…

thanks

I really need to learn how to make those…
