from what i see, the community posts for all the products are missing from that time period. no worry though. i seriously doubt anything that was posted was so precious that one couldn’t find the information again elsewhere. ![]()
yep, that’s correct. I bet most of the lost activity was here, but I’m sure we killed another post or two on other topics.
that reminds me one of the posts that got killed here last night was a mentioning that the Search feature on the left menu works pretty good as an activity finder. So if the current product discussion bores or annoys you, the search feature can show you general activity on all topics. (not that you’ll be any more entertained but it’s cheap) Searching with term “product” works well to show all topics and results are sorted by recent posting activity.
I hope that post on the Robomower asking if any pets had been lost yet is still there. heh.
[edit - yep, it made the cut]
that was a great tip, but i still wish there were some way to check the forum in a more direct way. i know i’m just whining, but i’m lazy.
plus i think it would also help increase activity in the community if it’s easier for everyone to see what threads are active.
i like the current setup, as it’s easy for newbies that just want to buy stuff but don’t necessarily know much about forums, but i think it’d be even better if you could ALSO browse the forum in a more traditional manner if you so choose.
That is nearly exact conversation I had with programmers on Friday. The idea is an alternate view button on the left that is modeled after the search results page. We’re on it. The search tip is a stop-gap. At some point, a cookie could hold your default setting (as well as the full screen setting mode)
sounds good. when do you think we can expect something like this to be implemented? should be a fairly easy task, but i’m sure it’s easier said than done. ![]()
Snapster, is it legal for WOOT! and SynMicro (depending on the affiliation) to use phpBB without the copyright disclaimer? :?:

Alright dude, we recognize your l337 computer skills and knowledge. It’s getting old now.
SubFreeze, would you fix the spelling of “percieved” in your quote on your company’s website, I find it annoying. That’s i before e except after c. 8)

The Slacker - Thanks, l337 brings back memories of the 90’s.
Snapster - I’ll do that when I get back to my system, thanks for the heads-up. I’ll beat the editor while I’m at it. How do you get the code to not appear on your pages, even though it is in the HTML? That’ll be a bit of a learning experience on my end.
It’s commented out… (<!-- –> for html, // for the js)
Thanks, I didn’t notice when I first viewed it.
Go Snapster! ![]()
heh, no problem. we certainly offer a few too many errors to chose from here on woot.
As far as commenting the copyright out, we are within the rights of their general public license as clearly acknowledged here http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=8. That being said - props to http://www.phpbb.com/ for their code and generous GPL rights.
Bah…just release the next item. I wanna go to sleep!
I have a feeling this is going to be a frustrating release if the database server is acting up like I think it is. the product and even the log in page are timing out on me occassionaly. if it’s indeed a hang up on the new database server, we’re not going to be able to fix it well until tomorrow.
edit - hey, we’re up - no forum topic yet but hopefully that will follow soon.
I’ve seen the same thing. I couldn’t access the login or product pages for nearly 30 minutes (roughly between 10:30 and 11:00 CDT)
I did not receive any tracking confirmation on this purchase, however I am aware and understand the site problems / upgrade that has been taking affect. My question is, have they been shipped out yet? If so possibly, is there an estimate as to when the mp3 player will arrive? I was hoping to have it by this coming Wednesday, but if not that’s ok. I would like to have an estimate in mind though. Please let me know.
Thanks a lot.
Does anybody know if this has shipped yet?
I have not heard anything?
it has probably already shipped, and should arrive within the next day or two. i think you’ll have to sign for the package, so you may want to check your door to see if they’ve already attempted a delivery.
Alrighty, I just received the FedEx trackment number, looks like it should be here on the 5th which is perfect. Thanks a lot woot.com! If all is well when the mp3 player gets here, my credit card may become friends with your website =P
Take Care
The Mp3 player just arrived!!! I did have to install the drivers for XP to recognize it, but as soon as I did so it worked like a charm. It arrived sealed in its’ retail package ready for me to open =P I live in Baton Rouge, LA so I figured the shipment would be resonably quick. Thanks a lot woot!!! Consider me up until 12:00 from here on out.
Woot!
