Time to check out the product page

I am curious about the weight. The Woot specs say it weighs 15.4 pounds and the Amazon specs say it weighs 23.3 pounds. That is a huge difference when using a chainsaw all day. I suspect the Woot specs are correct.

Poulan chain saws suck.

the reviews on the Poulan Pro website say its poorly made from cheap materials and does not hold up to normal use.

Honestly, I would have been inclined to agree when I used the Poulan’s from the 90’s vintage, but I got a Pro for just taking care of large branches and small trees that fell along my paths and it works pretty good. Easy to start (BIG plus for me) and has enough power to get through a 10’ tree without an issue. The only thing I don’t like is the chain tightening system. Seems like it is either to loose or tight and nothing in between.

I think this is a good chainsaw for a backup (first chainsaw gets stuck and you need to relive pressure) or for light duty.

I have had a similar 20 inch 2 cycle Poulan for 4 years. I’m the neighborhood arborist. I’ve cut down or trimmed up dozens of trees. It’s a workhorse! As with any small gas engine - don’t leave crappy fuel sitting in it for months and you’ll be fine. Mine starts every time with no issue…

I have one also. It works just fine but it leaks bar oil like no other. Apparently it is a known issue with Poulans. Other than that it seems to work well. Its just stubborn to start like all chain saws.

For the price, its hard to beat working around the yard, especially since its a 20’’ bar.

This is not a chain saw to use all day. This is a chain saw for occasional use. I had an older one that met my needs on a medium size suburban lot. I cut down a tree over 2 feet diameter at the base and it did the job. If I needed to do that on a regular basis I’m not sure it would be the right choice.

Here is a fact that should put a lot of Poulan chain saw owners at ease. Poulan chain saws are made by Husqvarna. That’s right, Husqvarna…one of the most respected names in the industry.

Much like any small gas engine, use only fresh fuel in it and NEVER leave gas in it when you put it away. Make it a habit to remove most of the gas, then run it until it runs out of fuel before putting it away. In addition, use only new or sharp chains and your chainsaw will reward you with great performance.

I know this in not really related to this product, but I would be careful buying anything more from woot. I have spent thousands here and I never had trouble getting my stuff.
I ordered 3 push carts on Jan. 3rd and have no tracking number and no carts. Over $700.00 worth of stuff.
I can’t call woot and when I filled in a support request on the 17th. I just got some crappy standard response saying the vendor likely hasn’t updated the tracking info. Another support ticket on the 23rd has now gone unanswered.
If I don’t get a response from woot by end of day Monday, I will be forced to file a chargeback with my card company.
I wish woot had a phone number so I could call. Buyer beware I guess!

It may bring you some comfort that Woot is a prince compared to some of the other deal houses, particularly during the holidays. I suggest that you write Woot support once more and wait about a week. I expect you’ll hear from them soon.

I’m very sorry to hear that you haven’t received your orders yet.

I’ve sent your post along to Woot Member Services to see if they can investigate further into what is happening.

Thank you for your continued patience during this matter and we apologize for any inconveniences it may have caused you.

I ordered this Poulan Pro 20-inch chainsaw on Nov 15, 2013 for $129.99. 35 days and 7 emails later I was out of patience at the non shipment and lack of responsiveness by Woot customer service and was forced to initiate a charge-back.

I’m very sorry to hear that you were unable to find a resolve to the issue you encountered.

If you have any concerns or questions about your order please feel free to PM me here in the forums and I’ll be glad to help you out.

I had the very same saw from a local big box store, only with an 18" blade. After about 6 months it started to leak oil, I brought it back and replaced it free of charge for a new unit. After a year on a new saw, an oil pump failed, causing the engine to seize. I’ve used it maybe a handful of times, as I have a Husqvarna Rancher 45cc for the big stuff and a smaller Stihl that I bought used.
My advice is throw another $50 and buy (in this order) a used Stihl, Husqvarna or Echo on Craigslist and save yourself some headache. No more Poulan products for me, sorry.

had one, bought another. I have drop chopped and stack about 9 cords each year. love this saw. still have them both, and for 100 off the list price I WILL NOW OWN THREE
I’M 5’4" 150.
