POV Sport-25 720p Recording Sunglasses

Specs say:
“4GB included memory”
and
Up to 32GB max

Does anyone know if it records audio? I’m guessing, if it does, that this model may not record stereo??

It says that it will do 1+ hours with the included 4Gig and will take a 32Gig card…how long is the battery life?

Apparent similar model with more storage (8GB vs. 4GB) and lower price found here. Found it even lower on a few other sites.

Anyone able to find a link to video actually shot on one of these under various conditions?

I can’t find a video on YouTube made with this thing… or any video about it at all…

Edit: I would like to know the data-rate of the video, that would give us a hint to the quality of it. And also, which codec the AVI video uses.

I own these glasses and they work fairly well as long as there is plenty of light. When indoors the video is very grainy. The recording uses mjpeg compression with .avi output file format. Working the button is difficult and there is no way of knowing if you actually hit the button correctly without removing the glasses and looking at the small led inside the arm of the frame. It does not capture still shots at all. The usb interface is standard mini usb. The little rubber cover over the usb port is annoying and never can be seated correctly. I just removed it all together. The framerate seems ok but move your head quickly and it get’s a bit jerky. The polarization on the glasses are good and work well when fishing to remove glare from the water surface. Overall I’m pretty happy with them. Here are the details.

This is the closest I could find by googling
“Mega Sight 3” which someone else linked to an Amazon above.

Wandered around looking for info. Endded up on iWantOneOfThose.com (iWOOT!) Wootin’ in the U.K.

Very,this is a good company !

At first I thought these would be great for a heavy sports fan, but then I started thinking about someone wearing these glasses everywhere. I know technology is not to blame, but it is getting easy for everyone to become an amateur spy (or stalker).

I guess I should start looking for people wearing sunglasses at night.–like the Blues Brothers.

Anyone tried wearing them on a roller coaster?

Built in 8gb flash, doesn’t appear to have a microSD slot to add memory.

So I’m guessing that they are waterproof? If not why would they have a rubber cover on the USB port, anyone?

Anybody else see the icon of the sunglasses and finally thing… something new something oakley… only to do the mouseover and be disappointed?

They actually work pretty good on roller coasters, especially on sunny days.

They are not good for anything involving water. They will record until they get wet in the wrong spot and then they are done for.

Home-made POV porn

Is there a time and date stamp on the video?

This is exactly what my 14 yo has been asking for! He wants to see the terror in my face as he plays back himself ski racing. Looks like I’m getting more gray hair for Christmas.

Not even water resistant? Weak.
