Power Sentry Home Theater Surge Protector, Line Conditioner and UPS

It provides you 9 minutes of backup at 50% power. What good is that if they do not tell you what the power rating is. IT could be 200 watts, if that was the case, then you would get 9 minutes of backup of your audio system only required 100 watts.

This does not sound like that good a unit.

I am so un-techno, that half the time I check woot and by the time I figure out what the thing does, the button is bouncing. Itā€™s like everyday is Wootoff! :slight_smile:

UGH I just spent my money on a HD DLP projector. as well as all the goodies (ceiling mount, cables, equipment)ā€¦ I will eventually need to buy one of these. must have for projectors.

/fingers crossed this does not sell out
//so i can pick it up @ the next woot-off
///by then i will have $
////win win

Woot had it a while back

Yes, and if you have DSL it appears it will protect that. Or a cable connection. And yes, Woot has had this before. Same price or maybe $10 more.

Good Product.
I have had an older model for about 3 years. I live out in the boonies, and it has saved my home theater system from lightening damage several (>4) times. Compare the capabilities/stats to your TV/receiver/DVDPlayer/etc & see if it will handle your wattage & amperage needs. I recommend it.

Just my 2 cents & experience.

nice designā€¦ I like it

Congrats!

I got the Power Sentry from the woot below and it was DOA. Sent it to Philips for repair and got a replacement promptly. Shipping was $30. Good luck.

Previously in a woot-off: http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=1727486

I donā€™t have anything exact for sizing, but a Smart-UPS 1000 that I pulled the battery from uses TWO 12v 12 Ah (Amp hour) batteries.

With 1 12v 9Ah battery and a little googling, I suspect that this falls somewhere around a 500VA UPS in terms of capacity.

Nice to see this one backā€¦got one before they sell out like last time in a wootoff a while back. My power went off this winter with my Optoma HD72 projector running and when power came back, it ruined my projector bulb and had to replace it with only 600 hrs on it. $350 later, I wish I had one of these to have prevented it. Great price compared to others Iā€™ve seen.

Power Sentry Theater Director Home Theater Battery Backup 1000VA 500W Line Condition 4520J 10 Outlet

Best place I know to compare is Altex.com (web or brickā€™n mortar in far north Dallas, actually Carrollton, TX).
We bought ours there for our security camera system and big screen TV+stereo system center (one for each). Heard equip like this are great for keep AV running smoothly, esp w/lightning strikes (had one), brown/blackouts (had lots with new contruction nearby). Surge protector protects against spikes, think of line conditioner like a modulator/keeps power in certain frequency range (better for equipment) and UPS keeps it up and running when no power. Should say how long itā€™ll give power and how much. So far so good for our systems.

WHAT THE HECK? THIS THINK RUNS FOR 9 MIN. ON 50% POWER AFTER POWER GOES OUT??? WHAT GOOD IS THAT???

Anyone know if the LCD on the front lights up or what it displays? I am just curious before jumping on this.

NCIXUS.com (above) and PriceBat.ca claim this is a 1000VA, 500-watt UPS, and goes for $250-$350 in various places online. With 10 outlets, this sounds like an awesome deal.

Manufacturerā€™s product information

Which consists of a slick sheet and a really big product photo. And a mucho smaller photo.

BTW, yes, itā€™s a 1000VA on the UPS sideā€¦

Perhaps they are referring to the Israeli power standard:

Does yours fit in this?

Correction. American plugs.

Or perhaps a Hot Gas Giant?
